It was good to tag on a walk to a shopping trip but, although it’s a good resource for locals, I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

I will probably head over that way for a saunter along the canal but wouldn’t particularly go out of my way to visit the Water Park. I can understand why it’s popular for locals, but I’ve better choices nearer to home.

I though you needed to be a hippy to move there 😂😉. Seriously though, despite being on the wrong side of the Pennines it would be a good place to live with good communications. I think HB is expensive but Tod is up and coming.

Thanks, not sure if I’ve heard that so I’ll check it out. She did a great podcast in lockdown which I really enjoyed.

Now I’ve more time on my hands I’ve been listening to back episodes of some BBC radio programmes, including “This Cultural Life”. One subject interviewed during one of the episodes is Jackie Kaye. If you’ve not heard it you’d probably enjoy it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002jttv
And I fully agree with your observation regarding her personality. Also backed up by a former colleague who, at one time, lived nearby Jackie when Carol Anne Duffy was her partner. So I have a few second hand stories about the pair!
