Grace and Truth

Thousands of years ago, God saw that the wickedness of man was great on earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Idolatry, worshiping self, worshiping false gods, blaspheming and hating God, unbelief, hate, murder, sexual immorality, sorcery, stealing, lying, violence, wickedness, evil.

God is the judge so He decided to judge the world for its wickedness with the flood. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah repented of His sin and put His faith in the Lord. Noah trusted God. God told him to build an ark and get in it, along with his family and the animals and birds. Noah believed God by faith and he obeyed God. Noah got on the ark. He was safe in the ark. The judgment of God against the world’s sin came when it rained and flooded, and everything on the earth died. Inside the ark, God kept Noah safe.

Noah and his family were safe in the ark. Noah worshiped the Lord his savior. Then God made a promise to Noah: never again will He judge the earth with a flood. The rainbow is the symbol God gave, of this promise He made.

God still judges sin. He will judge again. Now God gives grace. The only safe place is Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus is the ark. He is the safe place. Jesus took God’s judgment Himself, on the cross when He died. He is the sacrifice. This judgment of God that Jesus took upon Himself on the cross, is the judgment that we deserve. Jesus was sinless. Jesus is God Himself, who gave His life for us. In His death, God shows us His ‘rightness’ and justice, and He shows us His mercy and love. He willingly took the judgment of those who put their faith in Him to save them. Jesus is the ark: the shelter from the rain and the protection from God’s judgment for our sin. He died for our sins, and rose from the dead. It is finished. No more judgment against sin for those who trust in Him. He took it all.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus said, “He who hears my word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and does not come into judgment but has passed out of death into life.”

“He that believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he that does not believe the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on Him.”

Repent and run to the ark and get in, because the flood is coming! Run to Jesus Christ and get in Christ by faith and He will protect you and save you from judgment, forgiving your sins. He has given His life, to take your judgment. He is the shelter. In Him you are safe.
