Resume
Helping businesses solve ther problems using tailored AI solutions as an Associate Machine Learning Scientist at Amii. Previously, did a Masters from the University of Alberta with Dr. Li Cheng and Dr. Xingyu Li at the Vison and Learning Lab, where my work focused on AIGC for controlling digital human characters and their interactions using Generative AI.
I have two prior years of professional experience in various Machine Learning roles at AltaML, Hotpot.AI and Teradata. I have worked on various impactful projects for diverse clients spanning the entire Machine Learning Process Lifecycle (MLPL) in Computer Vision and Time Series Analysis. Before that, I recieved my Bachelors degree from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), where I conducted research on Neural Network Acceleration for Embedded Hardware.
🔥Two Papers at ICLR 2025:
InterMask: 3D Human Interaction Generation via Collaborative Masked Modelling
MotionDreamer: One-to-Many Motion Synthesis with Localized Generative Masked Transformer

Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta, Canada
Supervised by: Dr. Li Cheng and Dr. Xingyu Li
- Working at the Vision and Learning Lab on digital character control using novel Generative AI methods for 3d human motion and interaction synthesis.
- Published one paper at CVPR 2024 (MoMask) and one recent preprint on Arxiv (InterMask).
Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii), Canada
Team Lead: Sahir
- Advised 4 startups, across different industries, on scaling their ML capabilities through coaching sessions with CTOs and ML Leads, as a student consultant for the Level Up program.
- Helped them translate business requirements into ML solutions, brainstorm ideas, and solve challenges using the latest academic research and industry trends.
AltaML, Canada
Manager: Joan Vlasschaert
- Showcased the potential of Machine Learning to reduce unplanned maintenance costs and minimize operational downtime for the vehicle fleet of City of Calgary.
- Developed a Fleet Maintenance Prediction Proof-of-Concept (PoC) using predictive time series analysis on maintenance logs, vehicle sensor data, weather, and road conditions.
Hotpot AI, USA
- Led enhancements for the Object Eraser, Background Removal, and Style Transfer tools, involving full ML process lifecycle to achieve state-of-the-art performance and efficient deployment.
- Enhanced performance quality by 3x for Object Eraser, 5x for Background Removal and 4x for Style Transfer, advancing their competitive position in the market, resulting in increased usage and multiple B2B contracts.
Teradata Global Consulting, Pakistan
Manager: Dr. Salman Shahid
National Oilwell Varco (NOV), USA:
- Enhanced Bitbox, an automated PDC drill-bit inspection solution, by redesigning the cutter detection and grading algorithms to improve its accuracy and reliability.
- Applied advanced 3D segmentation techniques, unsupervised clustering, and geometric data processing to accurately identify and isolate individual drill bit cutters within 3D point cloud data.
- Increased algorithm accuracy from 40\% to 87\%, achieving precise segmentation and grading of drill-bit components, which enabled more effective damage assessment and streamlined inspection processes, and transitioned the project from Proof of Concept (PoC) to Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
- Developed Retail Vision as-a-Service (RVaaS), an intelligent computer vision service to analyze in-store customer behavior by extracting hidden insights from cctv video streams.
- Trained and deployed object detection and tracking models to identify patterns of customer activity for actionable insights.
University of Tokyo, Japan
Supervised by: Dr. Takeshi Morita
- Developed a circuit design prototype to harvest green energy from vibrations using Piezoelectricity.
