About Us
The Global Maternal and Child Health Network (GMCHN) was founded in 2015 by members of the International Health (IH) and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Sections of the American Public Health Association (APHA). GMCHN continues to engage with IH and MCH sections and related APHA component sections, caucuses, forums, etc as well as external maternal, child, and youth health advocacy coalitions, agencies and associations.
GMCHN has a presence on APHA LEAD – posting global reports, events, evidence-based practices and public policy documents, creates professional development events based on Network surveys, develops policy, and responds to emerging trends through Association processes.
GMCHN serves as a technical resource for the APHA Executive Office and collaborates with its Office of Global Health on issues related to global maternal, child and youth health and well-being.
