👋 Hi there!

💻 I'm Luca Lumetti, a Ph.D. student in ICT at UniMoRe. My topic is Healthcare applications of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision and Medical Imaging, and I am currently working on the segmentation of maxillofacial CBCT volumes. Check out ToothFairy Challenges and ODIN Workshop for more details. Prior to my Ph.D., I obtained an MSc and BSc degree in Computer Engineering, with a focus on the Artificial Intelligence field. In the past, I've been an active contributor in the web team of Ubuntu-IT, a part-time professor in high school teaching IT subjects, and a freelance full-stack developer.

• UNet Transplant: Official implementation of the paper "U-Net Transplant: The Role of Pre-training for Model Merging in 3D Medical Segmentation" accepted @ MICCAI2025
• ToothFairy Challenges: A MICCAI 2023, 2024, and 2025 Challenge on the segmentation of the multiple maxillofacial structures through CBCT images.
• Alveolar Canal: 3D segmentation of the Inferior Alveolar Canal through CBCT images.
• ZipLeague: An basic and extendible Django application to track spikeball matches among my lab (AImagelab-Zip).
• Deep Facial Inpainting: remove the surgical mask in selfies employing GANs.
• DQNTS: implementation of Tabu Search guided by a Deep Q-Network to solve the Max Mean Dispersion Problem

🚀 Contributions

• Pytorch: Fixed torchgen that would cause a bug in keyword arguments naming for torch.where()
• TorchIO: implemented Hann windows functions as aggregator mode.
• hyprpicker: bug fixing.
• tldr: translated some of the commands.
