How to Play Gisnep!
- To get started, click on Start!
- Each letter belongs somewhere in its column. Find the right spot for each letter to reveal a quote reading across. Note that words wrap around to the next line.
- Some cells have circles. When you type in those cells, your letter also appears in the Quote Source below the grid. That doesn’t just provide attribution, it can also help you figure out if you’re on the right track!
- If there are any green letters already in the source when you start, that just means those letters weren’t found in the quote so you get those as freebies.
If you get stuck, press the Check button to see if you're on the right track — but I believe in your ability to solve the puzzle without it. And if you want to start over, press Reset. The timer, however, will keep going.

Mobile Play Tips
Here are some things that hopefully make it a little easier to play Gisnep on small screens:
- You can swipe left or right to move one cell in that direction.
- You can swipe-and-hold to move many cells, like holding down the arrow key on your keyboard.
Swiping can be disabled in settings if you’re more of a zoom-in kinda player.
