A GOSPEL SEED WAS SOWN…

Posted on by

As I’ve said before when we go out Billy wears one of his Scripture t-shirts and I wear my Jesus hat. I also carry my tiny Bible booklets with me to hand out. We pray for Divine appointments before we leave the house and have had opportunities to witness to Roman Catholics.

One of those Roman Catholics is an employee of the store where we grocery shop. He is always happy to see us because he sees the name of Jesus. When we didn’t see him anymore for a very long time we wondered what happened to him. Did he quit, did he move, did he die. Then recently we saw him again and he came right over to talk to us. He said that he had been very sick and almost died, and he talked about God. It was amazing that he was back working again considering the severity of his illness.

Billy and I began to wonder if this very friendly man who had been so sick and seemed zealous for God was truly saved. We asked if he was born again. He said… “I’m Catholic”. Billy then asked him a question… “when you die why should God let you into heaven.” He replied… “because I have a good heart”. At this point Billy shared the Gospel with him. As we continued to talk we learned that he prayed to Mary and that he did not understand the exclusivity of Jesus as Savior. I shared 1Timothy 2:5… For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; So little time and the need to say so much more, We gave him the little Bible booklet and we even prayed with him. He seemed a bit perplexed, as if he didn’t quite understand what we said, but he was still his very friendly self.

As we headed home with our groceries my reaction was grief because Roman Catholics are taught so many things that are totally unbiblical. Protestant pastors appear to be completely ignorant of that fact. These precious souls are perishing under Roman Catholicism’s false gospel. That breaks my heart. It truly does.

Before we went grocery shopping the next time I typed up some Bible verses to give to him hoping we would see him again. I was thinking we could just give it to him without taking up anymore of his time. He could read it at home. We did see him that day and I was able to give him the Scriptures I had typed up but he wasn’t the same. When he saw us he said hi but raced by us. Friendly still in a way but his countenance seemed different. Totally unlike him. Maybe he understood more than we thought and rejected truth. Maybe he just happened to be in a hurry that day. In any case, a Gospel seed was sown. We pray for him daily.

These are the Bible verses that I typed up on a single sheet of paper and folded it up so it would fit right in his pocket.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, … that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Romans 3:10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Acts 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

MARY AT THE WHITE HOUSE

Posted on by

On December 8, 2025, the Roman Catholic feast of the Immaculate Conception, we find President Donald Trump honoring Mary on the White House website.

Excerpts…

“On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Catholics celebrate what they believe to be Mary’s freedom from original sin as the mother of God.”

“In her honor, and on a day so special to our Catholic citizens, we remember the sacred words that have brought aid, comfort, and support to generations of American believers in times of need:”

He then proceeds to quote the “Hail Mary” prayer at the end, a “prayer” that we former Catholics know all too well. 😢

1 – According to the Bible Mary was not born without sin and needed a Saviour…

Luke 1:46-47 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

2 – Jesus never told us to pray to Mary or any other human being.

Matthew 6:7-12 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Luke 11:1-4 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Give us day by day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

THE LEGALIZATION OF MEDICALLY ASSISTED SUICIDE COMING TO NEW YORK

THE LEGALIZATION OF MEDICALLY ASSISTED SUICIDE COMING TO NEW YORK

I met a woman in Walmart not too long ago who told me that because of a health condition she had when she was young the doctor told her mother that she would not live very long. The mother told the doctor “you are not God”. The woman is now in her 60’s.

Recently a man we knew from our former church had a very bad heart attack. We heard that he was being kept alive mechanically and with medication. He also had a mini stroke or two while in the hospital. Many many prayers went up for this man. It wasn’t long before he was well enough to go home. He’s walking a mile a day now. Truly a miracle! 🙌🙏

But God… 🙌❤️

What does the Bible say about salvation?

STRANGE FIRE – NADAB AND ABIHU

Posted on by

Leviticus 10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

Leviticus 10:2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

From Matthew Henry Bible Commentary:

“It is a dangerous thing, in the service of God, to decline from his own institutions; we have to do with a God who is wise to prescribe his own worship, just to require what he has prescribed, and powerful to revenge what he has not prescribed.”

Alexander MacLaren:

Nadab and Abihu had been consecrated for the purpose of enforcing the truth of God’s holiness. They had done the very opposite, by breaking down the distinction between sacred and common.

Adam Clarke:

Which he commanded them not – Every part of the religion of God is Divine. He alone knew what he designed by its rites and ceremonies, for that which they prefigured – the whole economy of redemption by Christ – was conceived in his own mind, and was out of the reach of human wisdom and conjecture. He therefore who altered any part of this representative system, who omitted or added any thing, assumed a prerogative which belonged to God alone, and was certainly guilty of a very high offense against the wisdom, justice, and righteousness of his Maker. This appears to have been the sin of Nadab and Abihu, and this at once shows the reason why they were so severely punished. The most awful judgments are threatened against those who either add to, or take away from, the declarations of God.
