What is a visit?

Flywheel determines which plan you require based on the amount of traffic to your site. Specifically, the number of “visits” to your site in a given month. We define a visit as a unique IP address in 24-hour period. Before we count them all up, we do our best to remove IP addresses from known bots, spammers, and attackers. Could you help me choose a hosting plan for WordPress?

How do additional sites work?

If you find yourself in between the size of our standard plans, you can add an additional site to customize your Flywheel subscription! An additional site is $20/month or $200/year (giving you two months free)!

Is there a discount for yearly payment

Absolutely! If you sign up for an annual plan on Flywheel, you’ll receive two months of hosting for free. :)

Does Flywheel charge overages?

We do. Whether you get an unexpected influx in traffic or you need more storage as you’re adding more content, we want to support the growth of your site! So instead of throttling or shutting off sites, we charge simple overages based on the traffic you received and the storage you’re using.

When your number of visits exceeds your plan limit, we charge a small overage for each 1,000 visitors over your limit. The overage cost is $1 per 1,000 extra monthly visitors*. For instance, if you are on a Starter plan and receive 30,000 monthly visits, you’d receive an overage fee of $5.

When your storage exceeds your limit, we charge an additional $1 for every GB you are over your limit. For instance, if you are on an Agency plan and are using 60GB of storage, you’d receive an overage fee of $10.

Do you offer email accounts?

We do not offer email accounts! At Flywheel we believe in using best-of-breed providers for all of your hosting needs. We’re experts at making sites built on WordPress super fast and secure, and we recommend you host email with a company that does the same for email. We recommend Google Apps for email, and have a handful of other companies listed in this help doc!
