About

Who Am I?

I am a 30+ year veteran of the tech industry and have worked for a tech giant, an internet telecom company, and half a dozen or so startups. During this time I have worn a lot of hats – engineer, manager, IT director, and even VP of a 100 person team. But these days I’m back doing what I love – just being an engineer and doing exciting work at a startup.

What Is This Site About?

Pretty much whatever is on my mind. In addition to computers (and retro computers), I also enjoy electronics, ham radio, aviation, and cooking. I don’t play games much and have zero interest in social networking, crypto currency, smartphones, AI, or politics.

As much as I love building and playing with technology, a lot of it is garbage. I will be calling out things that are too hard to use, wasteful of resources, or do not represent a fair exchange of goods and services.

How Come You Post So Infrequently?

Because I’m busy doing the other things I listed. This site began in 2011 and I’ve spent most my time since then raising a family! I am not on track to be an “influencer”, but I do occasionally have something to say.
