The 2010 edition of the UN week (previous editions took place in 2000 at Stăuceni, in 2005 in Drochia county etc.) was achieved between 18 and 24 October 2010 and was dedicated to the UN 65th anniversary.
According to UN Charter, the main objectives of the organization are next:
*to maintain peace and international security;
*to develop friendly relations among the nations;
*to cooperate in solving international conflicts and in promoting the respect for Human Rights;
*to be a center for harmonization of actions of all states.
In this context, the NGOs group from the WOTC network have organized several important events, during a week. The WOTC experts carried aut trainings about activities of international forums, about collaboration between Moldova and UN, Council of Europe, UNESCO. We created new youth structures who will promote the activities of UN and UNESCO, as well as Council of Europe politics. In the framework of these reunions participated over 1500 students and teachers.
The planned goals were succesfully achieved. Among the structures created are: 4 Clubs of Council of Europe – in Mereni (Anenii Noi), Constructions College from Chişinău, at „Mihai Eminescu” Highschool and a Club of Council of Europe in Grătieşti City Hall, Chisinau.
We also created 4 UNESCO Clubs: at „Gheorghe Asachi” Highschool, at highschool from Mereni (Anenii Noi), at Constructions College and „Mihai Eminescu” highschool.
The week concluded with an extraordinary concert with the title «Offer a chance to talented children», (offered by great personalities of national culture and young talents from WOTC), developed on 23 October 2010 at National Palace. On 24 October was launched the book of Dan Verejanu „Me and Council of Europe”.
Hoping that only together (volunteers, media, ambassadors, writers, readers, actors, spectators, teachers,) we will offer to our friends some nice events that will make more beautiful the time, at the events developed in UN week participated great personalities of national culture: Anişoara Puică, Ana Barbu, Maria Iliuţ, Silvia Goncear, Mihai Bodurin and Ion Raţă in solo projects and in project „Catharsis”, Laurenţiu Popescu, writers Efim Tarlapan and Gheorghe Bâlici, Vasile Macovei, Doina Bordeianu, Natalia Duminică and oriental dancers, „Dans clasic” from national centre „Artico” and other winners of International Festival-Contest of World Talents „Micul Prinţ”.
The project had a positive impact, proof are messages from new members of Council of Europe and UNESCO Clubs, visits of parents to WOTC headquarters and teachers from different institutions who wish to create such structures in their city, the opinions of the viewers from the concert, with a very succesful screenplay and direction, offered for free by poetess Renata Verejanu.
The direct beneficiaries of the project „UN week” are over 3000 citizens of different ages: over 2000 spectators from Ocniţa, Bălţi, Sângerei, Anenii-Noi, Orhei, Criuleni, Ialoveni and from Chisinau, and over 1000 new members from Clubs of Council of Europe and UNESCO Clubs, who at a symbolic price of 2-3 Euro had the opportunity of viewing a great concert. The indirect beneficiaries of the project are tens or may be hundreds of thousands of people. After the concert concluded the people didn’t hurry to leave, waiting for project authors, requesting to take pictures with them.
The project was implemented only on volunteer work.
