I’ve really enjoyed following along as you learned about and tried all the different types of apps. Thanks for the really thoughtful, reflective posts. I hope you keep exploring apps and mobile technologies in the future, because they what’s available certainly doesn’t stay still!

Think of it this way (aka, How I Justified the Book of Kells App Purchase to Myself):
it costs less than a really nice book about the Book of Kells would AND you get the whole thing. Plus all of the history and context and extra add-ons. And it really is beautifully done, they did not cheap out at any point.

I had a lot of fun making that playlist, and am probably disproportionately proud of it. Glad you liked it!

So the silly app version of WordPress isn’t as good at telling me I have comments. Certainly a point not in its favor! No, my library doesn’t have Pinterest. We have a FB page, and have just recently gotten permission from the County to start Twitter, although I don’t think that’s gone live yet.

Mon, 26 May 2014 17:36:51 +0000https://floatinglush.wordpress.com/?p=3332#comment-721I am currently drooling over that Book of Kells app (and trying to figure out how to justify purchasing to myself)! It’s so beautiful.
Regarding weather apps, I have NOAA Hi-Def Radar and Dark Sky. Sadly, neither of them are free. Hi-Def Radar is good for tracking storms if you like to see, well, the radar map. I’m new to Dark Sky, but it’s a oddly specific app that tells me things like “Light Rain starting in 12 minutes” and a chart of when it is expected to rain throughout the day. I’ve found it to be very accurate so far, though I haven’t had it that long.
