Hi, Astrid.
I am the person on the right in the Boskone book picture. It’s rare for me to see a picture of myself where I don’t look dorky.
Is there any way you could send me a copy of the picture alone?
It was nice to meet you at Boskone. Perhaps our paths will intersect in future.

Emily — Yes, you may certainly use that photo! Thank you for asking, and I’m glad you enjoy my blog. I’d love to see a picture of the finished poster.

Hi Astrid! I love the blog- you have a lot of the same interests as my mom and I (wool, nature, Lord of the Rings, Lost, etc.). I was wondering if I could have your permission to use one of your beautiful photos. It’s this picture here: https://fishwrapper.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/hawaii-cherry-tree.jpg. It is the perfect background shot for an Asian club poster I am making for college. I will definitely give you photo credit, if you don’t mind my using it. Thanks! ~Em

Totally off topic, Astrid, but a quick search for an email for you brought up this site. We met briefly at Seattle NASFIC in the Heinlein Society suite. I was indexing correspondence from the Robert Heinlein Archives this week and ran across your letter thanking Mr. Heinlein for dedicating “Podkayne of Mars” to you. I thought you might get a giggle out of seeing it again. Drop me a line if you’d like an image.

Lisa — thanks for the kind words! It’s never too late to play with fiber, you know. Just buy one leetle skein of yarn . . . or one fluff of fleece . . . and before you know it, you’ll have Stash coming out of your closets and lots of warm and/or stylish scarves to give as gifts or wear with pride. From there it’s a slippery slope, but great fun.

I stumbled upon your gorgeous website while trying to find a picture of “rainbow bread” –this ridiculous “bread” they sell at some local Missouri grocery stores (i HOPE it’s meant for kids), and I wanted to show a friend…anyway, the picture of up your wonderful wild loaf of bread showed up in Google Images, and I got curious. What a pleasure your website is! The photos are elegant, the links are Actually Interesting, and the writing is lovely. I want to try every recipe you posted.
If I had time to live a whole ‘nother life I’d be a fiber artist, so I was extra-happy.
Keep up the good work!
Well, back to the stratosphere. ]]>
Please send any memories of Bjo to:
]]>We are beating the bushes for anybody who has an anecdote anout Bjo and/or John Trimble for our Tuscon 2010 program book. They are fan GOHs for this annual fan-run con held in Nov. each year in Tucson. I would appreciate anything that or your mom might have to say about the early Bjo, the artistic Bjo, etc.
NewTopic or post-script:
I have always been a fan of both your dad’s and husband’s writing and iIhope to learn more about your own creative efforts. I speak Swedish a bit and learned to spin on a 1842 Swedish spinning wheel, BTW.
Hej-hej, (as they say in gamla Sverige)
