First Fortnight is a charity that challenges mental health prejudice and stigma through arts and cultural action.
We harness the power of the arts as a catalyst for change, healing, and community engagement, ensuring that mental health is recognised, discussed, and supported in every corner of society.
Across Ireland, we achieve this through our Centre for Creative Arts Therapies and the First Fortnight Annual Festival.
Antidote 2: WeAreGriot x First Fortnight bring to you a spoken word and live music show filled with love, joy and play.
Ar Ais Arís: This Virtual Reality piece explores migration and isolation, experienced by the audience through VR headsets.
Therapy Sessions Árainn Mhór: Expect intimate readings, experimental folk textures and chorus-ready moments that will bring the room together.
“Through every festival, project, and conversation, we move closer to a society that speaks about mental health without stigma, where creativity is part of the healing.”
"I loved it [the festival] from start to finish, both being looked after behind the scenes and getting to share the stage with and meet so many brilliant other artists!"
First Fortnight’s Centre for Creative Therapies
We provides free, year-round art, music and drama therapy for children, adolescents and adults at risk of homelessness. IACAT-accredited therapists use trauma-informed, person-centred approaches to build resilience, process trauma and develop positive coping strategies.
A team of dedicated, passionate people
First Fortnight is built on a diverse, inclusive team, from core staff to volunteers, united by a shared commitment to celebrating individual differences and fostering creativity across backgrounds and disciplines.
