when you've been doing something all day (or all evening), don't you find it gets into your dreams? i've noticed this in particular recently - since my days have been slightly repetitive, and of course, last night i was working. so last night i dreamed about writing articles and serving beers. it's maybe even weirder than my usual today programme dreams - in which the headlines incorporate themselves into my subconscious. anyway, there's a poem which i did for gcse, which i always think about when i have day-related dreams. after apple picking by robert frost, from which this is a short extract - his description of his dreams, it feels very familiar, except that instead of apples i have bottles of pilsner.
"Magnified apples appear and disappear,
Stem end and blossom end,
And every fleck of russet showing clear.
My instep arch not only keeps the ache,
It keeps the pressure of a ladder-round.
I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.
And I keep hearing from the cellar bin
The rumbling sound
Of load on load of apples coming in."

are the stars out tonight?
life and stuff
not only am i a bad blogger, i'm also a dreadful friend. i have forgotten everybody's birthdays this year, and probably deserve a whack round the face with some kind of wet fish. or possibly a kipper (which you can buy in the bbc canteen for breakfast should you wish to).
rt is great, they're nice people, i'm even doing some writing. yay, yay, triple yay. i'm reading the miracle life of edgar mint, it's quite nice, i like it. i'm crazy crazy busy, which is fun and exhausting. i had my eclectic religious beliefs demolished by a vicar yesterday. life is good.
who's your favourite tv presenter? donna air? sarah cawood? mark durden-smith? just wondering.
one of the good things about blogging, and reading blogs is finding out the news before everyone else does. thus i had already read on no rock&roll fun that the face may be closing, a good twenty minutes before mr steve sutherland came in and told everyone here.
the closure of the face and j17 does not bode well.
i forgot to mention that i'm on work experience at the moment - it's taking up about seven sixths of my time. not that i'm complaining really because even buying coffee and organising bookshelves is making contacts - with that and actually starting my real life job (which is g!r!a!t!e! - it's a bit like doing indie soc but they pay me and everything - i'm not convinced i've ever been paid to work before - it's not that i haven't worked, just haven't been paid), i haven't had much time for blogging. it's hard to believe that i set this blog up on work experience - and i was actually *working* that time. what time i have had has gone on the work experience log, which is kind of dull and worthy. but today features a review of yo la tengo/gorky's that i wrote to show the music reviews editor. normal service will be resumed soon-ish i promise. though i'm definitely being a workie til the 27th of march (smash hits and radio times), and uncut seem to think they might want me back. go me.
