Looking back at my resolutions made a year ago, fail so many of them! Haha!
My painting tally for the year:
13x assorted 28mm minis
10x zombies
8x Gondors
8x Greeks
1x minotuar
1x hill giant
1x Giant worm
3 4Ground buildings
Pulled up by some last miniute productivity in the last couple of weeks.
So what were my 2013 resolutions?
1. Paint 24 Gondor warriors (14 done)
2. 12 LotR figure set (nope)
3. At least 5 Red Box Games miniatures (only 1)
4. At least 5 Infinity the game miniatures (none)
5. At least 10 Victorian horror /SF miniatures. (1 done)
6. Do a few more trees. (nope)
7. Do a few more 4Ground houses. (3)
8. Do some scatter terrain.(nope)
9. At least play one campaign to completion. (don't think we ended any campaigns...)
10. Play at least 2 board games. (zombiecide and x-wing... can I count x-wing? Also The Drizzt game)
11. To sort, organise and pack my room. (ok, about 80% done)
12. To NOT back at least one kickstarter I'm really keen about. (actually quite a few... so many kickstarters last year.....)
How about resolutions for 2014? Not sure yet. Current things that I am think of now:
1. Paint a bunch of elves (my project for 2014)
2. Finish my greek OGAM force.
3. Do a bunch of stuff for rpg/dungeon crawl
4. For some reason I want to do some japanese minis...
edit: added giant worm to painted list, forgot all about it!

Undead quick paints
I started 10 Mantic zombies long long ago, maybe even a year ago. But then lost interest and never finished it. But most of the colours were blocked in already. Then a few games of rpg at the end of 2013 brought me back to undead and so I finished them up. All it needed was a few layers of washes and they were done.
Then I painted another 4 undead. There are two Otherworld Wraiths, a really old Reaper banshee (as in so old the blister was a different pattern....), and a West Wind thing (from their old Chaos in Carpathian range I think)
The 4 minis were really quick jobs as well, some dry brush, some washes and done!
Seen below posed on Capt Arjun's graveyard terrain.
Got a few more painted stuff but haven't got round to taking photos of them yet.

Hill giant
Here is a pathfinder pre-painted hill giant re-painted. The Gondorian there for scale. As you can see its not very big for a giant, but is still quite fun.
Hill giants are always useful, either as a random annoyance or part of a variety of warbands. Have had the urge to paint it for quite some time, then just for fun I did it over two nights.
I wasn't very careful with the painting but I thought it looked quite decent overall. Spotted a few touch-ups I need to do but otherwise it is done.
(maybe I shouldn't have stuck any grass on it and then I can use it as a 15mm giant....)

Warcaster
Bought this warcaster quite some time ago. When people started talking about warmachine and hordes, got my itchy and I decided to paint this guy up. I don't think I have enough to make a whole cygnar warband, but I like this guy so I painted him up.
This is the first warmachine figure I have painted (I did paint a stryker but I converted him into a 40K inquisitor). Well, actually he isn't a warmachine figure. I think he was released to support their rpg game or something? Not sure, but he doesn't have stats for warmachine....
Spent quite some time trying to figure out what colour to paint the armour, traditional cygnar blue? I thought maybe red (like the inquisitor I painted)? but then in the end went for a neutral metalic.

Legion of Ever'Nid Carnivean WIP
A few people talked about doing warmahordes and I came across an idea of using tyranid parts to make Legion of Everblight warbeast ... I had a startbox of nids from many years ago so I thought why not? Of course I ended up spending more money buying a few extra bits ... here is the first conversion.
Its suppose to be a Carnivean,
I used a tyranid warrior base (legs, tail, torso, head). I added a bit of bulk to the forehead but maybe I'll add a bit more? The smaller hands are from genestealers, the larger hand is the large claw thing that came with the warriors (the XL one, not the normal size one). The pincers came from the carnifex kit. Needed a bit of work to saw off and swap the claw with the pincer but I really liked the pincers and the carnifex arm was way too bulky (and ball too big for the warrior socket).
Also did some putty work to cover up some details and to add others. An important step is to add one more armour plate on the back between the torso and pelvis. I guess its absence makes it more posable but without it it looks like something is missing....
Not too happy with the outcome. Happy with it as a model, but it did not really achieve the look I was going for. For one, it looks too intelligent for some reason. Might be a bit smaller than it should be too.... I read somewhere just recently that the ravener torso is bigger than the warrior one. If I had read that earlier, I would have got it from the bits place and tried it out. Too late now.... Maybe I should add random stuff exploding out of his back like the official one...

Spartan Warrior
Painted this Tale of War Leonidas figure. I wanted him to lead a warband of naked figures so I decided to make him naked as well. So I did some conversion to remove his underwear. While I was at it, I modified the helmet some, and replaced the spear with a brass rod. For the spear, I used the old spearhead, and sculpted a new other end (whatsitcalled?).
I also filed off the Lambda from his shield. I thought of painting a nice shield design, or use a decal but in the end I decided to give him nothing.
I was going to use him as the war god Ares in the Gods and Mortal game and I thought that he and Hephaestus are not best buds so he goes to war with really crappy equipment and relies on his personal power/prowess as a warrior.
Here is he, posed with the mino from the previous update.
Here is a photo I took with my phone, you can see the greenstuffed areas.

Mino!
Its been awhile since I painted a big miniature, although this Otherworld Minotaur is not the biggest of minis, it is still a good head (or more) taller than a man. When I saw the greens for the mini I wanted to have it. I just like naked minis for some reason...
Since the myth of the minotaur was that it was fathered by the Cretan Bull which was supposed to be white, I thought I would paint it as a white / albino colouration with white fur.
Tried my best to not make it grey, but white, keeping all the colours and shades very pale, but introducing a bit of pink/red to make it look more like a living thing than a marble statue.
