oops
This is just a tiny apology to everyone who received the email I accidentally hit "reply all" on this morning. It was only supposed to go to TiffSniff. I guess it was mildly embarrassing. Mildly.

This spring was a really hard one for my family. My mom had some significant health issues and it seemed that when one was close to resolution another one cropped up. During the course of this her doctor, in trying to prepare us for what was only a possibility, used some terms that were extremely scary. Like "I might loose my mom scary". I don't know how, but she was remarkably calm that night. We had a prayer session in her hospital room, just the 5 of us. I'll admit to having a mini-freak-out in the parking garage with my dad though. Over the course of the spring months I've been amazed at the outpouring of love from people at church, my coworkers, my friends, and my parents' friends. He reminded me in the oddest of places that I am not alone and we are not alone.
Rob and Ellen
Jamie and "her" life group, Jan and "her" life group
Jen and Jenn for visiting at the hospital
Terah and Erin for the random visits in the hospital corridors
Bart and Tiffany for our late night phone calls
Kelli and Tracy in particular for house visits
My life group for continued prayer and support
Phil and Sheryl for being Phil and Sheryl
Katie for positive thinking and distraction at lunch
Sally for positive thinking and her kind of love
Andy for catching me when I was field-verifying his office to ask about Mom
Zoe for singing in the hospital room
Wade for checking in when I randomly called him about work stuff
Lynn for checking status during work visits
Lisa for cheering me up
Lesley for your hugs
Dan for telling me you were praying
Susan for asking your church's elders to lift us up
Tim for PPP support
Loughborough church for international prayers
Becky for comraderie
Laura for checking on her American mum and dad
Angelica for her note
and there are so many more people who wrote notes and brought food and drove cars. I don't even know who all I don't know about. I've been blessed more than I could possibly imagine. I feel more than ever that God's church is global. It's big and powerful and present.
Love,
FS

I ran into Susan tonight at the mall. In addition to seeing her wonderful family, she asked me to update my blog.

friday post on thursday
I'm listening to the Cure "Pictures of You". It's... swirly. I'm going to have to get more Cure music. Galore isn't cutting it anymore. I associate this song with Ben because he put it on a mix tape for me once. He says he doesn't think of me when he hears it though.
I've forgotten what else I was going to post now. It's been a very full week already. I saw girls from high school on Tuesday. Took a chance and hung out with a guy last night. We talked a lot about church and religion and worship. I realized again how ineffective I am at apologetics... of anything really. Being a feeler doesn't translate well into bullet-pointed reasons for why I believe what I do or why I do what I do. He was patient though and that's nice. My brother's in-laws were intown this week. They didn't ask me to do anything in advance so I made other plans and then felt bad for not spending more than 20 minutes with them. Yeah, I don't feel too badly though. I need to finish my taxes and I'm going to have to have someone help me this year. boo! I have a couple emails I need to write and catch up on.
And I need to get back to work now.
