If you've ever wondered what a flight to India would be like, to Calcutta in particular (which JUST so happens to be IN the State of Bengal) then track one: "Flight 1C" will give you a good taste.
And speaking of taste, there's this dish in Bengal called khichuree. There are other versions of it all across India, but essentially it's rice and lentils with a gamiche of vegetables (typically potatoes, cauliflower, peas, carrots, beans, etc.) and the wondrous masalas of the subcontinent. It's soul food: a meal in and of itself with a myriad of flavors and textures...and I can think of no better way to describe State of Bengal's music than a spicy blend of sound full of flavour.
