EXPERIENCE the Quran and Sunnah…
Navigating
Bismillah…
Since this isn’t just a blog about my everyday occurrences, I thought I might give a tip or two on how to navigate…
Q: So, since this is neither a hard-core thematic tafseer, nor a chronological seerah blog.. How do you go about navigating? Oldest post to newest?
A: Completely up to you! We easily tire of routine, and may not keep up with it especially if this were some sort of virtual class… Instead this is more like reflections here and there…ideas for subjects to look into… I suggest just browsing around the posts page (“Rays of Light”) to find what interests you or looking through the categories because they are sorted out into Juz’s, Surah names, and other specific information.
Q: What if the posts are too long to read?
A:Nobody is always ready to read pages and pages of writing…especially off of a screen…and especially if it is one person talking away…. So, inshAllah in my posts I will make headers in bold to break up the information-don’t read it all at once! Consider them like bookmarks to take breaks 🙂
Q: What are the colors on the verses for?
A: In some of the tafseer posts, you will notice that the words are circled and underline in colors. This is so that you can follow the colors when we are talking about the words, to stay connected to the words and maybe learn to recognize them. So..follow the colors…
Q: Can I add?
A: You can obviously comment, that goes without saying. I think discussion is one of the most proactive ways to learn, because you are not being passive. But also please correct any of my mistakes since this is quran and hadith which are the most serious subjects out there!
If you have an entire thought on your own on an ayah or hadeeth, feel free to submit it to me here and I will see if I can make it into a post, inshAllah.
Finally, there is always more barakah in halaqas….much more than just reading…So you can also feel free to take the ideas of the subjects, get together with someone else and do your own research so you can really benefit…Then come back and see the post to see if you can add either to your notes or mine 🙂
