Hi.
Umm… well there’s only a little to tell. This is going to be effectively an online diary to share some thoughts and creative writing. It’ll be an ad-hoc affair, rather than daily.
It may change into something else.
I’m all for going with the flow – why set it in stone?
A small tale…
When I was an art student many moons ago, I had a tutor called Bill who was really into za zen meditation. He used to make us meditate for ten minutes before every art class to “get rid of all that crap floating round your minds”. Bill never used to mince his words.
One day whilst doing a painting session he took me to one side.
“Listen,” he says…
“There’s different types of artists and depending on how far they understand themselves and the world around them, they’ll progress in their style.
Most start out drawing on earth – gritty, basic, unfeeling, simply expressing what they see and nothing more. Most people stay like that.
But some, they get to drawing in sand – they start to play with the images, things are less clearly defined, but they still get an impression or a feeling across.”
“When you get to start drawing on water,” he said, “you’ll not be thinking about your emotions and your perceptions, you’ll simply be expressing it, directly.” He paused,
“There’s only a few people ever get to draw on air. When you do that – you’ll be simply one with whatever you’re expressing. Become one with what you see, feel, are… what you draw will simply be an extension of that.”
Then he grinned and said, “of course I could be talking complete bollocks.”
…I’d take these pages with the same heady attitude.

what a beautiful tale…and how true, about creative expression.
I look forward to reading more in your online journal.
