In mid June we visited the Oak Creek Historical Society. For a small place, it seemed well done. I'm used to some of the bigger places so I was hoping that the volunteers would be in each building describing things. We did at least find information on and inside the buildings so that was helpful.... Continue Reading →

Basilica of St. Josaphat
Something we did in early June was to see a local historical landmark: The Basilica of St. Josaphat. It was cool in its own weird way. Everything was painted. The walls that look like marble, are just painted to look like marble. The mosaics, same thing, just painted, not really mosaics. That said, it still... Continue Reading →
Green Bay Botanical Garden
If I were doing these in order, this would be posted before the post about Lambeau Field. But it's not in order, so I'm posting it now. 😉 We had some time before our tour began for Lambeau Field, so we headed over to the Green Bay Botanical Garden. It's not bad for botanical gardens.... WI Bucket List #44
44. wear a cheesehead with pride Since we were at Lambeau field, why not get this bucket list item out of the way too? Well, sorta. I wasn't going to buy a cheesehead. Nor did I feel comfortable about putting one on in the store. So this is as good as it gets.
WI Bucket List #1
1. pledge your allegiance on game day at Lambeau Field This is another bucket list item that we are modifying to fit us. We decided we won't try to go see an actual Packer's game. Mainly, we hate crowds. I understand this place is packed when it's game time. The stadium can hold up to... Continue Reading →
Effigy Mounds – North Unit
It was close to two weeks later when we went back to Effigy Mounds to see the North side. The sun wasn't out and it was more humid. The bugs were annoying. We walked as fast as we could to get this done. So a lot of the video is shaky as we were buzzing... Continue Reading →
Effigy Mounds – South Unit
This post on the Effigy Mounds will be done in two parts. The first part is the south unit. It's the first part of the park we visited. We went back at a later date to see the North Unit, however, I plan to have it posted next week. There is a lot of information... Continue Reading →
Decorah Fish Hatchery
When we visited the Decorah Eagles we also went over the fish hatchery nearby and enjoyed feeding the fish. Not a lot to say about this one. We just really enjoyed watching the fish get excited about eating. Good times! https://youtu.be/oqngAz_d9VU
WI Bucket List #67
67. watch the majestic bald eagles soar over the Wisconsin River So this is a stretch (I mean a real stretch) to really count this as a bucket list item. However, I'm going to do it anyway. We were near the Prairie du Chien area in late May. This is where the Wisconsin river meets... Continue Reading →
Delavan’s Circus
For lack of a better something to call this post, I'm calling it Delavan's Circus. To back up a little, Wisconsin appears to have a big circus history. We actually visited Baraboo, WI a couple years back and did the circus museum they have there. You can view that post here if you like. Anywho...I... Continue Reading →
