Position Description:
The East and Central European Studies Program Intern will work alongside the International Programs Officers and Director of International Programs to facilitate the ECES Program. The intern will be responsible for completing office-related tasks, as well as working with ECES students throughout their studies in Prague. The length of the internship may range from 4-7 weeks during the summer term, to 4-10 months during the academic year. Start and end date to be discussed on an individual basis. Tasks may include:
- creating informational materials for students,
- facilitating student movement within Prague during scheduled program activities,
- assisting with daily office tasks,
- working with student databases,
- assisting to maintain correct information on the ECES website,
- facilitating cross-cultural experiences for ECES students through workshops, activites, contact with local students, etc.,
- and facilitating day trips and activities.
During this internship, there is also the possibility for the intern to develop a project based on his or her own interest in cooperation with the Assistant Director of International Programs. Any such special project will be discussed at the beginning of the internship, and will be the responsibility of the intern.
Qualifications & Position Requirements:
- Must be familiar with Prague and the Czech Republic, including the geography of the city and local culture
- Prior experience studying, living, or working abroad
- An interest in international education and working in a cross-cultural, higher education environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on assigned tasks, and have experience working both independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite, especially including Word and Excel
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organizational skills
- Proven problem solving skills and attention to detail
Benefits:
The ECES Program Intern will be provided with the following during the period of his or her internship:
- Housing (a single room provided in university housing)
- A transportation pass valid for the duration of the internship
- Ability to take one ECES course for credit during the term(s) when the intern is working. The ECES intern will be provided with a Charles University transcript for their course(s) upon the completion of the internship.

ECES Alumni Ambassador Program
Did you love your study abroad experience with ECES in Prague? We would love to have you become an ECES Alumni Ambassador! The ECES Alumni Ambassador Program will give former ECES students the opportunity to promote the importance of studying abroad, and the opportunities available through ECES. Through the medium of activities, presentations, study abroad fairs, and peer advising, ECES Alumni Ambassadors will form an outreach network with the goal of promoting study abroad and the ECES program at their home institutions.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must have successfully completed the ECES program at Charles University
- Must be outgoing, creative, and have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be passionate about ECES, Prague, and study abroad
- You must have the endorsement of your home study abroad office
- Must be willing to complete a training with the International Programs Officer via Skype
- Ability to dedicate at least 20 hours per semester
ECES Alumni Ambassador Responsibilities
Below are a sample of some of an alumni ambassador’s responsibilities. This position will be unique for each student depend on their university’s needs and the student’s interests.
- Be familiar with all aspects of ECES program
- Attend training session via Skype with International Programs Officer
- Liaise with your home study abroad office on all marketing-related activities
- Attend study abroad fairs at home university to represent ECES
- Organize on-campus presentations and events about ECES programming (ex. Information table in student center, lecture-style presentation with guidance from home study abroad office, display boards with program information, Czech food and culture night, etc.)
- Speak with interested students and ECES applicants at home institution
- Advise future ECES students during the semester prior to departure
- Submit monthly report of activities to International Programs Officer
- Skype with International Programs Officer at the end of each semester for check-in and evaluation
