But you can have concern for others.......and many folks genuinely do.....but they still don't want homeless folks living next door to them.

Homelessness is not a technical problem. It's not a leaky pipe you call a plumber and it's fixed.

It's a constant adaptive challenge.

I've served on a couple boards of non-profits who provided housing to folks who are homeless. You're dealing with abusive relationships, drug/alcohol abuse, mental health issues, etc.

Those all complicate the solutions to the overall problem of homelessness.

So would you if your city placed them next to you........unless you live in a slum already.

Americans can have sympathy for the homeless, support politicians who want to help the homeless, and can still object to living next door to them.
