Dr Plausible
You’ll never get any further than plausible.
Dr Plausible reviews case studies of hypoplausiblosis, a pathology that has been active since pre-historical times and has afflicted most of humanity’s textual productions in literature and ideology, in movies and advertising. Several researchers have hypothesized that this is just what humans are like: a lack of plausibility in human text has the same cognitive status as a lack of love in a lizard’s liver. But our eminent humanist disagrees, perhaps implausibly. For him, hypoplausiblosis is like a humpback: it has causes, symptoms and an individual history, but it can only be properly assessed by onlookers.
Hypoplausiblosis has no cure. This means that Dr Plausible’s work is largely useless, like pointing out that a brain tumor that’s killing you looks just like Nixon.
