Why do I call myself a nerd? Well, the left brain is the seat of intellect and my parents are both pretty brainy. (I always say I was born with 2 nerd genes and no shopping genes!) I work days as a Naturopathic Physician, self-employed in natural family medicine. That means I spend all day thinking and talking with patients. Lots of time hanging out in the left brain! Sometimes I deliver babies in the home, as I am also a midwife. This leaves me happy to pursue a solitary pastime, stitching. I enjoy stitching with others, talking about it and playing with fabrics and fibers, as well. It is great for labor sitting. I especially love Hardanger embroidery and samplers with specialty stitches. I have been trying my hand at needlepoint lately. Creative pursuits are a right-brained activity, and so are a good balance for my life.
Neither left nor right is the spiritual life. I am a born-again Christian, active at Calvary Chapel and in a small prayer group meeting on Friday afternoons. And lately I have joined the women at my church as we study the book of Ephesians on Tuesdays.

I love pets, though I can’t have a dog as I am gone too much. So cats abound, both indoors and out. This is Lovey, sacked out on the futon. Isn’t she pretty?
So, now you know more about Ginger.
