I never know what to write for stuff like this … I guess I should start with some details about me. I’m originally from Phoenix, Arizona but was transplanted to Southern California as a child. It’s not that I really love it here (I don’t) but the weather isn’t bad and hubby has a really cool job so I’m stuck here a while.
I’m 61, once divorced and currently married (for the last 31 years) to a decent guy … he is supportive of most things I do and even adopted my daughter, who’s now grown and married herself. I spent 25 years as a mechanical engineer, the last 10 or so building/testing satellites. But then I decided to go off and do something totally different … after earning my Reiki Master’s certificate in early 2013, coupled with some major problems at work, I’ve decided to jump the corporate ship and practice energy work full time.
I’m also very interested in herbs for healing, maintaining health, and just ’cause (what some might call a kitchen witch) and have recently started offering some of my concoctions to the public. My best friend and soul sister has allowed me to sell in her online shop and my chiropractor has also started selling the herbal remedies I’ve made for a variety of physical complaints. Now I have my own online shop and I stock my goodies in my office.
I like being around wild places, the ocean or the forest being my favorites. I like camping and hiking but as we get older (hubby, myself, and our pup) the desire for comfort is overtaking the need for adventure. We do still get out into the woods, but we currently favor a rental house over a tent. But I must have my truck with me … it’s so much fun to find a dirt road and follow it wherever it leads. I love animals (I have lots of fish, a bird, and a dog) and chocolate (who doesn’t love chocolate?), quiet evenings at home with my family, and rainy, cool days (weekend of course) so I can have a fire going and curl up with a good book. One of my favorite places in the world is the Mount Shasta area and hubby, the pup, and I spent many years vacationing there.
I don’t like Southern California drivers (cell phone or not, they make me crazy), “fake” people, spammers, solicitors of any type, brussels sprouts or canned meat.
Thanks for stopping by … grab some tea and get comfy!

Aw … thank you! I got a kick out of some of your posts but got distracted before I could look around much … I’ll definitely be heading back over when I have a little time. 🙂

Wow! You build satellites and love animals and chocolate. I have to say that’s the most interesting combination I’ve seen thus far. Now I’m going to have to read more. I have to stop meeting people here. I’m never going to get any work done. 😉

LOL I know exactly what you mean. But my issue is sleep, or more specifically a lack of. Adding more blogs to read just keeps me up later. Thanks for dropping by. 🙂

Hi Dragon. This may sound like a weird question but… are you married to Brain Rants?
If you are, what happened to that third burrito?
If you aren’t… um… hello. I used to play Dungeons and Dragons when I was younger.

You bet … and thanks for returning the favor. 🙂
I’ve seen your comments on Mark’s blog but didn’t wander over until Brea posted about your Response to a Homophobe post. After reading that, I figured I’d add you to my reading list.

D’Fae, even though I don’t post here often, I read your stuff all the time (mostly through my surgically-attached smartphone). You’ve been a wonderful friend, and I wanted to let you know I appreciate you.
So I nominated you for the Sunshine Award on my blog today.
HAPPY FRIDAY!
