A little man in the middle of nowhere watching North Korea. DPRK Forum Tumblr (3.0; @north-korea) https://dprkforum.com/Why I Stopped Blogging North Korea

North Korea has always fascinated me. It still does. One may even say I am obsessed. That may be closer to the truth than I would like to admit.

Why did I stop blogging about it?

First, I was simply re-hashing what others were talking about. Others are a lot more qualified to discuss such matters than I am. Second, I fell into the classic trap of reading the tea leaves too much. Hanging on to a set of beliefs that wound up not correct made me feel silly. In retrospect, I should have let events unfold as they happened. I should leave what “could happen” to the specialists like Andrei Lankov. Finally, I am sure others got tired of me yammering about this subject. In fact, I know so. When my own family gets concerned for my mental health, it is time I stop talking and blogging about it.

In the end, I decided to study the country and its history on my own.

If you are looking for quality North Korea watching based content, Yonhap, Chosun Ilbo, Korea Times, Andrei Lankov, Curtis Melvin, and Marcus Noland are good places to start.

I am pretty close to ten years with dprkforum.com. Perhaps one day, I might blog something about it again. Until that time, thanks to all who helped me understand this enigmatic country better.

https://dprkforum.com/post/152408358828https://dprkforum.com/post/152408358828 Thu, 27 Oct 2016 23:25:22 -0400 north korea economics politics speculation Pyongyang, the place everybody envies.

Pyongyang, the place everybody envies.
https://dprkforum.com/post/2718629353https://dprkforum.com/post/2718629353 Wed, 12 Jan 2011 17:02:17 -0500 north korea pyongyang propaganda video
