Musings of the Dolbster

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read my blog.  A little about me. OK, I’m nothing special for a start, 27 years old and living in Birmingham, UK.  I work a dull day job, to clarify the work is so dull that if it weren’t for unrestricted net access and a reasonable salary I probably would have a criminal record by now. The people saved me! What I can say is that my workplace is completely and utterly mental! It’s the source of much day-to-day hilarity, it’s like Rampton, an elderly care home and a Victorian circus rolled into one.

My background? I’m from north of England, just outside Sheffield, eighteen miles away. Eighteen miles in the other direction is Newstead Abbey, Lord Byron’s home. Byron is a massive inspiration, not only his work but his lifestyle. The man was probably insane but boy did he have a good time. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t wear ruffled shirts and breeches but I love how Byron lived his life, well forget the incestuous affair and the feverish death, but on the whole, the guy lived his life to the full.

I want to share my musings on life, work, sex and art. This sounds awfully pretentious doesn’t it? I’m not. Truly I’m not. You will find out in due course that pretentiousness, smugness and the other cancers of the self-satisfied are a little more than pet hates to me. What I crave is honesty, but I also want to share my sense of fun with you.

I’m a more peaceful person than the Dolbster of my teenage years, angst-ridden, brooding and always spoiling for a fight. However, the spirit still remains and it keeps me going through the bad times and adds a sparkle to the good.
