Ok, so. GraffitiDC as you know from a previous post of mine, is one of DC’s greatest slams. It happens every third Wednesday at LIV nightclub on U St. 10 bucks before 8, 15 after. Doors open at 7, show starts 8.
Logistics.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a spot that was as chill as this. The atmosphere is definitely live, especially the month that G. Yamazawa featured (check him out…dope! @gyamazawa on twitter). Drinks, laughs, great music, fun people…oh, and poetry.
Armed with a new brand (meaning the flyer), GDC, as many of its supporters affectionally call it, is nearing this season’s end. With a few more months to go before the finale, this month is paying homage to the ladies. Women’s History Month edition of GDC features Rachel McKibbens who I’ve heard is a dope poet, an open bar for the ladies (while supplies last), a female DJ and guest judge and some dope slammers. I’m excited. I hope that the poets pay homage to us ladies. *cue UCB’s Sexy Ladies*
We shall see.
I highly, highly recommend making your way down to LIV tomorrow. Located at 11th and U St, its right on the green line. Get your buns down there for some fun. I’m hella excited. I’m going even if its solo dolo 😉
Follow GDC on twitter at @GraffitiDC …tell ’em I sent you!
