Breadcrumbs
I leave my words here
like careless handkerchiefs
dropped in the grass
my scent lingering
until the dew of a new day
washes them clean.
Tiny morsels of my soul,
breadcrumbs on a path
that leads to my heart
and that birds pick up
with no remorse
or pity.
If once my words
reach hearing ears,
ardorous essence,
mournful sorrow,
or courageous genius,
likewise reaching out
seeking
something,
don’t leave without
a laugh
a tear
a touch
or something else
I’ve left for only you.
