I was born in a small seaside town in Kent in the late 70s, just in time for the Jubilee, punk, and the deaths of Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley & Charlie Chaplin. I grew up in a town notable for its oysters and high rates of illiteracy and teen pregnancy. I left Kent as a teenager to move to an even smaller town in South-West Scotland with an even higher rate of illiteracy and teen pregnancy (not to mention alcohol dependency). I now live on the English side of the debatable lands of the Borders. For a while I studied Creative Writing & Film Studies.
When I look around the world I can’t help but notice that there’s a lot of stuff going on, and that it has been that way for a very long time indeed. Maybe forever. Some of this stuff I like. Some of it I don’t. I try to write about both these kinds, depending on my mood.
