Sorry, we’ve been too distracted to write.

I guess blogging takes discipline. Also, I guess I got tired of uploading the same picture – over and over.
Not that we haven’t been taking pictures, just haven’t been uploading…
Again, sorry we’ve been underinforming. Time to share the love again soon. Levi turns 1 year old in 2 weeks!
Check me out

Hey everyone – sorry it’s been so long since we’ve written anything. Hopefully you checked out the Levi laughing video…cause we think it’s very funny. Our little baby is growing up so fast…he’ll be 7 months old on October 7th! Here’s a pic that i took this morning of him in his brand new super orange (super washable) high chair.
In the past few weeks, we have finally been able to embark into the wonderful world of solid foods..hoping that this will be our ticket out of worrying about his eating issues. We think we’ve got the reflux under control, he’s still on acid medicine four times a day, but all the symptoms seem to have subsided…which you would think would mean that he would be eating…but he’s not. At least not consistently well. He’s had some real good days but a lot of hard ones lately too. Some were due to a bad cold he and John got, some were due to his top front teeth trying to come in (what a crazy nightmare that was) and now…well, i’m not sure what the problem is now.
But we are adding solid foods into the solution side and hoping that he’ll start to gain some weight soon. But if you know him, you know he is the happiest, funniest, sweetest little baby boy you will ever meet. At least, we heart him a lot!
Tummy troubles

Hey everybody, just a short little post to let you in on what we’re doing today. We are taking Levi to a pediatric GI specialist because last week Levi decided to stop eating. On Thursday he didn’t eat for 8 hours and would scream if you brought a bottle close to him. He was so full of rice cereal (and we think maybe allergic!) that he had had enough and told us where we could shove our three hour schedule! So all weekend John and I sat next to his bouncy chair trying to get him to eat something…anything. We were able to get him to eat a little here and there, we could always get him to eat well during the night so we would bulk him up then. And then finally by Saturday night, he let us hold him and he ate a little. By Sunday, we took out all rice cereal and just went back to formula which agreed with his tummy much more so we thought maybe our troubles were behind us.
But then on Monday, reflux reared it’s ugly head and Levi couldn’t eat very much at weekday until afternoon and then at home took little ounces every hour till bedtime. But Tuesday was where it all broke for us. He just couldn’t eat. He didn’t eat in the morning and screamed at weekday when they tried to feed him midday..and screamed when i tried to feed him in the afternoon. And it’s so hard because you know he is just starving, he will suck your shoulder, your hand, his hands – anything..but can’t get the milk down because his rock hard bloated little tummy and his reflux gets in the way.
So long horrible story short, we got referred to a pediatric GI and actually got an appointment for TODAY! It’s such a miracle..normally it takes 3 – 4 weeks. So we’re going (with John’s sweet parents who just came into for the weekend) to the GI this morning and if you could pray for little Levi and that this doctor would have some answers for us that work, we would be grateful. We are exhausted and frayed and need some direction. Otherwise Levi is the happiest, most talkative, super strong baby you ever did meet…he just needs to be able to eat and we’re set. 🙂 Thanks friends – we’ll keep you posted!
Are we still alive?

Hey everyone – we are back from vacation and i’ve posted a few pics below! And let me tell you – vacation with a newborn is sooo fun. We thought on the ride down that we had readjusted our expectations and were going to find a way to have fun, relax, and still take care of our kiddo knowing that we had 12 other capable family members eager to help us out! Well it was a nice plan. But Levi had his own ideas. 🙂 Levi decided that he wanted to only eat if you were standing up and bouncing..constantly…for like an hour each time. that’s right – that’s 7 hours a day ladies and gentlemen! Oh, and the best part was that he also informed us that he would be taking these bottles from his mommy and sometimes his daddy..but pretty much that was how he liked it. So needless to say, we kissed the beach goodbye! Every three hours we fed our baby for an hour, then played with him for another half hour, then put him down for nap for an hour while we hungrily soaked up rays at the pool or John took a quick trip to Starbucks, only to get right back upstairs to start feeding him again! Sooo fun. But it was great to be with the fam. And they were all so sweet and patient to adjust to having a little newborn invade their vacation (sleep)! And we got to go to all our favorite restaurants, got to see Indiana Jones (while grandma and Auntie Lo babysat), got to be with all our cousins..and best of all, we got to hang with Levi for another week of adventures! Below are a few pics of Levi with the fam, me feeding Levi (my main vacation event), and our favorite – Levi in his bouncy chair outside by the pool. We were so exhausted by our “vacation” that we need another one!! Hawaii, anyone?
