A DIY Blog

This blog has been part of my life since 2009.

What started as a creative outlet to share home projects, decorating ideas, and everyday inspiration grew into something much bigger – more than 400 blog posts, features on well-known websites, and partnerships with major home and lifestyle brands. After a quieter season to finish a degree, have children, and do a full renovation, I’m excited to be refreshing this space with intention, creativity, and a renewed love for blogging.

This site is both a creative archive of my projects and a fresh start where timeless home ideas meet real-life projects that you can create in your home today.

About My Projects

This is a home decor and DIY blog rooted in real homes, real projects, and livable design.

Here you’ll find:

  • Home decor ideas that blend style with practicality
  • DIY and renovation projects—from small updates to big transformations
  • A focus on old house challenges, ideas and projects
  • Decorating inspiration for family lived-in spaces
  • Small home ideas. Our space is about 1800 square feet.
  • Before-and-after projects, including our recent family cottage renovation

I’m currently revamping and updating older posts while adding new content that’s optimized for today’s web—without losing the heart and creativity that made this blog special in the first place.

It’s great to meet you

The Lovejoy Cottage Renovation

One of the biggest chapters of this blog’s next season is our family cottage renovation.

This project has been a labor of love full of thoughtful decisions, hands-on work, and meaningful updates designed to be our short-term rental. I’ll be sharing:

  • Renovation progress and finished reveals
  • Design choices and lessons learned
  • Budget-conscious updates and splurge-worthy details
  • Tips on being an AirBnB host
  • How we balanced function, comfort, and style

If you love renovation stories with heart (and a few real-life imperfections), you’ll feel right at home here.
