about
It’s time I tell you more about myself in this section, though I think most of you already know all this.
I live in New York, and I’ve worked in the arts for most of my adult life. I’m also very sexual. I’ve been promiscuous and I’ve been monogamous and I think I prefer to exist between these two extremes.
I also have an extensive history in sex work. I’ve worked as a nude model, a fetish model, a fetish worker, a call girl (agency and independent), and ultimately, extensively, as a courtesan (I prefer the term ‘whoretesan’), which I did for several years. I blogged my way through these stints as I struggled with the difficulty of living a double life. The double life continues to be difficult.
Lately, I’ve been pulling away from the sex work because of the recent influx of attention. I certainly brought it upon myself, I know this. One of these public flashes was an anonymous interview I did with Diane Sawyer earlier this year. My mother recognized me, and when she did, I mentioned this on my blog. I didn’t think it would be an issue, but it was. And things got weird.
I still work in the arts and sex is still central to my life. I’m editing a website with Kasia dedicated to haute porn or art porn or whatever you’d call the convergence of art and sex. Sex work was/is/will always be just one manifestation of an interest I’ve sustained since adolescence.

Interview at Refinery29. Reprinted in the Huffington Post here, accompanied by a photo of woman with tits much larger than my own.
I’m not going to list the tabloidy fall-out, but the Diane Sawyer interview is here. I respond to the traffic storm here and I talk about the interview again here.
Suzanne Portnoy wrote a bit about the discovery for the Huffington Post and her own relationship with her family. I’ve got no answers of my own, but I like her thoughts on the subject.

I’m interested in what other people are up to, particularly in the area of sex and sexuality. I'm especially interested in erotic objects (or sex toys), photography, film/porn, and any intersection of sex and design. If you have a recommendation, please get in touch. And if I can be supportive, I will be.pictures and secrets
