Isn’t it a miracle
That God can be known
That He reveals himself
Through creation shown

God out of His grace

As an invitation

Receptors receiving
Senses and sound
Shades of perceiving
Feet on the ground
Everything sings
Everything speaks
Everything leads to
The one our soul seeks
Present in Presence
Of being right here
Love the Word shared
Of binding in prayer
A battle of silence
Rages within
Of world and the spirit
This day who will win?
To avoid at all costs
The world tries to fill
The Spirit to empty
A choice of our will
Two centers of being
Who will have control?
One of aligning
Both body and soul
A fork in the way
Of a choice, clear
One of distractions
The other of prayer
Let us seek silence
Of the true Word
To follow the Spirit
Where God can be heard
The devil sent a fox this day
To steal my joy away
In the midst of busyness
I was easy prey
I glimpsed within the morning mist
The sunrise on display
A little whisper said to me
Come my child and pray
In the dawning light
Past the clouds of gray
In the pasture wandering
The fox headed my way
I said a little prayer for him
And in its warmth, he lay
He felt the joy of morning light
And rolled, began to play
I couldn’t help but smile
His joy here to portray
What was meant for evil
Took another pathway
How beautiful this blessing
Of parable, convey
The joy meant to be stolen
God shared with all today
First thought’s to run away
From this cross I bear
Our Lord offers to me
Let me walk with you here
First step is to turn
And offer up a prayer
I can’t do it on my own
I need the grace You share
First word to acknowledge
Your words spoken clear
To let your Word live in me
That love conquers all fear
First sense is to receive
Blessings everywhere
To seek them many ways
The Spirit does appear
Each step to respond
Gratefully aware
To let love lead the way
And finding heaven there
