Too many unanswered questions about the ending for me.]]> First,
Bats aren’t rodents their mammals. The only parts of Dark Knight Rises that bothered me are the insane way Bruce was hung on a rope to heal his protruding spine after being slapped back in and a few scenes later doing push-ups and sit-ups miraculously recovery if I say so myself. Selena was definitely not a lesbian, she was into prostitution like Frank Miller’s YEAR One comic and the girl was obviously being taken care of by Selena like Bruce raised Dick. Sorry but nothing gay there in either situation.
As far as politics I only saw Terrorists holding up a city and trying to blow it up and 1 hero trying everything humanly possible To save it. I just despised the open ended climax of the film. That lost perspective on the entire trilogy. Is Bruce going to stay Batman? Is Blake, real name Robin lol 😂 continuing as Batman in the Batcave underneath Wayne Manors new school for underprivileged children 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Seen it on the big screen in 1980 (I was 13) loved it then and loved the songs (and yet, I hate musicals!). Found the wonderful Harry Nilsson soundtrack record and listened to it to the point of knowing every little line muttered by Popeye between the lyrics, then bought the movie on VHS, and then on DVD and finally on Blu Ray… I love how this movie, between the slapstick sequences and quirky characters, is inherently sweet and a little mournful. Popeye founding Swee’Pea and adopting him while searching for is own father, Olive wanting to be loved by a man who would need her… It’s full of yearning for happiness and love… The songs are incredibly touching. I almost cry when I listen to the fantastic “Sailin'”… I just can’t understand when people tell me they don’t like this movie… But it comes down to acquired taste, I guess…

Very true. Max is in love with noodles. Everytime they have a fight, Max forgive everything in two seconds, loses his shit afraid to lose his “friend”, and runs after Noodles and ask for a swim. Not, let’s say, share a pizza, but share a swim. And he has to fuck all the girls Noodles like. Not to mention he’s jealous as fuck and dumps his girlfriend to prove Noodles their thing is the only important matter. It’s platonic of course, but c’mon, It’s obvious. What I don’t know is to what point Sergio Leone was conscient of that.
