Thoughts for Today,

Paula Cole, has a lovely song, titled “Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?”, I was petting my dogs and meandering through YouTube music videos and Paula Cole came on. As she was wistfully crooning sweet nothings, I began contemplating life. Perhaps I’ve gone mad, absolutely bonkers in fact, as I have memories of being a young lad, and being confused by this thing or that thing, and being told that I’d understand when I was older and naturally I assumed that as I got older I would understand more and more things, sadly I do not feel that is the case.

Perhaps, we have been lied to, perhaps there has never been a “Shining City on a Hill”, no “Camelot “, and no “Beacon of Freedom & Light”, just a bunch of liars, lying to us hopeful fools.

I’m sorry for being a yoke on your happiness today, I hope your days & nights are filled with joy and happiness and you bring great honor on you, your family, and your ancestors.

I’m just in pain, grumpy, and irritated with election season.

The Bastion of Parlimentary Representation has Fallen

The United Kingdom, arguably the home to the first modern liberal democracy albeit in the form of a constitutional monarchy has fallen into an oligarchy, with the monarchist veneer of a weak crown, unable or more likely unwilling to stand for king & country.  Keir “Sturm Trooper” Starmer and his chihuahua looking lapdog Sir Mark Rowley, head of the once honored and respected Scotland Yard have lead the charge in a multi-tiered justice system, eviscerating the formerly lauded British justice system.  My heart is heavy.

Biden Steps Aside

As I am sure you have heard President Joe Biden, has officially declined the Democrat Party’s nomination and endorsed Kamala Harris.  What this actually means is somewhat hazy, as polling indicates VP Harris doesn’t poll much (and in some polls, worse) better than President Biden.  As the Democrat Party gears up for the national convention in August, we will get more clarity.

Now for the rumors…Obviously some more names could include:  Gavin Newsome (Ca.Gov.), Michelle Obama (former 1st Lady), Bernie Sanders (Vt.Sen.), & of course Hillary Clinton.   All of the possible candidates come with supporters, but weaknesses as well.  There are some others of lower profiles we could see compete, I’ll cover those later.

Exciting times indeed.

What do you want to see?

A Trump-Clinton rematch?

A socialist wet dream of Trump-Sanders?

A west coast/east coast battle Royale of Trump-Newsome?

Or will the Democrat Party punt with a Trump-Harris.

Your thoughts?

Thoughts for Today 4 August 2023

Wow. I know it has been a while since I last posted, and for that I am sorry. I just wanted to make a few quick comments on the state of the world and some of the wildly absurd things going on in it.

  • Aliens: If you were a highly advanced alien species would you visit earth. No, No you would not.
  • Trump Indictments: The timing of the Indictments, coupled with the timing of the leaks about the Biden corruption gives the appearance of malfeasance on the prosecutors’ part.
  • Ukraine: has become a blackhole of money laundering, covering up for long term corruption in the arms acquisition, foreign aid, and military over spending; and the complete abandonment of any type of peace movement. ala the Iraq war protests.
  • Biden Economics: the state of the American economy is in absolute shambles albeit not for the wealthy, but for the most vulnerable we are in a depression, to say nothing for the quality of everything has fallen off the cliff but the price has not.
  • The Political Landscape in America: the parties be damned, the devoted followers of the parties have become absolutists. i.e. You are with us (on everything) or you are the enemy.
  • Everything is Political: Everything from the vehicle you own, the movies you see, to the color of your hat. Bizarre and very dangerous.
  • Health: The pushing of “Healthy at any size”, Transgenderism, “Gender Affirming” care, are unhealthy, dangerous, and quite simply nonsensical, and flys in the face of common sense and wait for it, Science. XX/XY.
  • Pharmaceutical companies: the entire health care industry has whored themselves out to pharmaceuticals, plain and simple. This has led to the fentanyl crisis, the rise in questionable alternate health products, and a general distrust of “professionals”
  • The loss of the American Dream: no longer can the young people in their 20s or 30s can look to the future and think “one day I will own a house, with a white picket fence, a new car, and be able to retire at 65. You know the old a chicken in every pot, and a car in every garage, thing.

I’m sorry for being such a downer Dave, but it is the landscape, at least from the point of view that I have,

Thoughts for Today, 24 Sept 2022

What a time to be alive, war, famine, pestilence; one should not be shamed for musing over the state of the world, it certainly feels worse today. Perhaps it is, perhaps it is not. Let’s analyze, shall we:

War: More than 50 conflicts around the world, assuming you don’t count areas with absurdly high crime rates (looking at you Cali), crazies bombing, shooting up, or other wise causing general mayhem in places, to say nothing of other general disorder that gets shuffled under the radar.

Famine: This, for the moment at least, seems to take a back burner position in world affairs, although the future does not look particularly bright. The EU seems bound and determined to get rid of all their indie farmers, [see Netherlands & UK], the war in Ukraine, and drought/high temperatures in the US give the general feeling that this winter might be tighter than usual, painful inflation will strongly contribute to this, no doubt.

Pestilence: What need I say, that has not already been said about Cv19, in fact a commercial about that just played on my music player, to say nothing of monkey pox, the return of polio, etc. Billions of USD has been made by some very rich people, and as we all know everyone loves money, and the more the better. It is what it is. the love of money is the root of all evil. Not just a quote from the bible, boys and girls but a painful fact.

I suppose the best thing to say is prepare for a long tight winter, so dig in, hold your friends and family close, hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst. And if you believe in divine providence, this might be the time to lay on some serious prayers.

Be Blessed,

my Friends

Stay safe
