I'm Zhiyu (Zoey) Chen, and I am an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. I obtained my PhD in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, advised by Prof. William Wang and Prof. Xifeng Yan. I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University advised by Prof. Fei Fang. I'm broadly interested in natural language processing and deep learning. Language Agents: LLM-powered agents and various applications. NLP for Social Good: NLP for interdisciplinary research, including social science and mental health. Knowledge-Grounded NLP: Retrieval-augmented generation, dialogue and interaction systems, question answering, and knowledge reasoning.
