We have a wide range of exhibitions from rare, one-of-a-kind scientific, zoological specimens to popular cultural homages to the relevant anthropological and psychological acknowledgements of the sightings and folk traditions to be found within hominology and cryptozoology. As part of our scientific and education mission, we preserve native art and contemporary souvenirs.
Your admissions, donations and gift store purchases keep us open.
Hours & Guidelines
Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday in Portland
10AM – 6PM weekends (F-M)
Plus we will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, and Christmas.
Pets allowed as service/emotional support, if well-behaved.
Admission fees in Portland
Adults, $10, for 13+
Children, $5, for 12 & below
Babies, Free (in arms/strollers)
Moving to Bangor Maine April 1, 2026. We will be permanently closing the Museum in Portland after March 1, come say goodbye. Thank you for 23 years of success there!
Our Exhibits
Founded in 2003, The International Cryptozoology Museum has a collection of thousands of items for you to see. We appeal to all ages and are a family-friendly museum. In 2016, we relocated from downtown Portland, Maine, to Thompson’s Point. Our two-story museum is curated with a wide variety of cryptozoological specimens, oddities, artifacts, and novelty items surrounding the study of unknown creatures. Continuing in 2021 is our Sasquatch Revealed Exhibit.

You can get involved with our non-profit organization in a number of different ways. Visit our donation section to learn about donating money, artifacts, or other items you believe would help our museum. You can also check out our store. Proceeds go towards keeping the museum running. Looking to get hands-on? We take on interns and have other programs where you may be able to lend a hand.
