Canada: Trudeau’s Emergency Powers Ruled Illegal
January 18th, 2026Via: The Daily Bell:
The Trucker Protest was “No Threat To National Security.”
The Federal Court of Appeal has determined that the Liberal government improperly and illegally invoked the Emergencies Act (Canada’s equivalent to martial law) to disperse the convoy demonstrations in downtown Ottawa in February 2022. This ruling, issued on Friday, rejected the federal government’s challenge to a 2024 lower court judgment that declared former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s invocation of the act unjustified and a violation of demonstrators’ rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The three-judge panel emphasized that, despite the inconvenience and disruption caused by the protests, these events did not rise to the level of a genuine threat to national security. The judges stated that cabinet lacked sufficient reasonable grounds to conclude such a threat existed, thereby failing to meet the strict statutory requirements for invoking the legislation.
“There was no evidence that the lives, health or safety of the people living in Ottawa were endangered (as annoying, stressful and concerning as the protests were),” the decision noted.
Time To Reload On This Commodity: Ammo
January 18th, 2026Via: ZeroHedge:
The precious metals landscape in recent times has been nothing short of record-breaking. New highs in gold and silver, but some of that momentum has been blown off on Thursday after a softer tone from President Trump on Iran eased safe-haven demand. Platinum, palladium, and other metals, such as copper, also cooled today, but one strategic commodity has yet to move higher in the metals bull run.
That one strategic commodity that has yet to break out from multi-year lows is ammunition.
U.S. Military Troops on Standby for Possible Deployment to Minnesota
January 18th, 2026Via: NPR:
Up to 1,500 U.S. active-duty troops in Alaska are on standby for possible deployment to Minnesota, a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly has confirmed to NPR.
The move comes days after President Trump again threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act to control ongoing protests over the immigration enforcement surge in Minneapolis as well as clashes between federal agents and residents. Trump later walked back that threat.
The troops on standby are from the Army’s 11th Airborne Division, which specializes in cold weather operations, according to the division’s website.
“Bank of England Must Plan for Financial Crisis Sparked by Aliens”
January 17th, 2026Via: The Times:
The Bank of England must plan for a financial crisis being triggered by an official announcement confirming the existence of alien life, one of its former policy experts has claimed.
Helen McCaw served as a senior analyst in financial security at the UK’s central bank, preparing for events that could impact the economy.
She has now written to Andrew Bailey, the Bank’s governor, urging him to organise contingencies for the possibility that the White House may one day confirm we are not alone in the universe.
McCaw, a Cambridge graduate, believes a declaration of that magnitude would send shockwaves through the markets and could trigger bank collapses and civil unrest.
First U.S. Sale of Venezuelan Oil Goes to Vitol: Its Trader Donated $6 Million to Trump’s Re-Election Campaign
January 17th, 2026Via: First Post:
The first US sale of the Venezuelan crude oil was to a company whose senior member had donated to US President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign. The sale was conducted last week to a company called Vitol, The Financial Times reported. Interestingly, John Addison, a senior trader at Vitol, donated $6 million to political action committees backing Trump’s re-election campaign.
He also attended the meeting Trump had with oil executives at the White House and was also involved in his company’s efforts to secure a $250 million deal for Venezuelan crude.
Nick Shirley: More Minnesota Fraud
January 16th, 2026Pay close attention at 45:54, where the video turns to how millions of dollars in cash is moved through airports in suitcases. The cash couriers were openly declaring the cash to TSA agents. It appears that this was explicitly allowed by the Federal Government:

Trump: ‘Anything Less’ Than U.S. Control Of Greenland Is ‘Unacceptable’
January 14th, 2026Trump’s argument for seizing Greenland, that Russia or China will seize it if the U.S. doesn’t, makes no sense. Greenland (an autonomous territory of Denmark) falls under the protection of NATO. Therefore, if Russia or China attempted to seize Greenland, that would trigger a unified response from the NATO alliance under Article 5.
So, what’s the actual motivation?
Oil?
Minerals?
Something weird you saw on 4Chan?
Other?
I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem like this is going away.
Via: ZeroHedge:
President Trump said early Wednesday on Truth Social that anything less than full American control of Greenland would be “unacceptable” – and even cited its necessity in erecting the new Golden Dome missile defense system.
“The United States needs Greenland for the purpose of National Security. It is vital for the Golden Dome that we are building. NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. IF WE DON’T, RUSSIA OR CHINA WILL, AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!” Trump wrote.
The statement was issued just ahead of Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s meeting with officials from the large far northern island and NATO member Denmark at the White House.
“Militarily, without the vast power of the United States, much of which I built during my first term, and am now bringing to a new and even higher level, NATO would not be an effective force or deterrent – Not even close! They know that, and so do I,” Trump continued.
“NATO becomes far more formidable and effective with Greenland in the hands of the UNITED STATES,” he asserted, adding that “anything less than that is unacceptable.”
