Donna Allard (a.k.a. AcadianRose) was born in Moncton, raised in the fishing village of Richibucto and now resides in Dieppe, New Brunswick. She is an Anglophone born poet who volunteer’s in humanitarian causes. Presently the President of the Canadian Poetry Association (CPA), founder of Chocolate River Association. Her expertise has been in demand as a judge for the 2004 Acorn-Plantos Book Award and 2004 & 2007 Arts Hamilton Literary Award. She is listed in the Canadian Poets Registry. Her service includes serving for several years on the board of directors for the National Milton Acorn Poetry Festival, PEI Canada. She has been included in various anthologies and edited three collections, ‘Postal Code II’, ‘No Love Lost II’, & ‘Poetea for Six’ of the CPA Signature Series. She was publisher for the 2005 CPA 20th Anniversary Anthology, ‘Harvesting Treasures’, under her own River Bones Press. In 2005 placed 3rd for the World Poetry contest for Pablo Neruda 101st Celebration, Vancouver Public Library, Vancouver, BC, for ‘Pablo Is an Island’. In 2007 placed 1st for ‘war musket grasses’ with the Canadian Poetry Association 2006 poetry competition. She volunteer’s as poetry editor for PFLAG Canada’s online magazine and was offered poetry news editor for Now Public.com, by retired CTV reporter Mark Schneider.

Published Works:

Selected works, “Minago Streets’, ‘Hands Upon the Dunes’ and ‘Bellwalker”, published by River Bones Press, an interesting personal account of a young Anglophone’s life in Acadie. Donna has also organized four poetry festivals for the Canadian Poetry Association over the years. She is presently the editor for the Canadian Poetry Association magazine POEMATA.
