The Group that won’t offend Islam has no problem offending Christianity

by Robert Farrow

NBC’s Today Show wasted no time calling Discovery Channel’s
upcoming “documentary” the “Lost Tomb of Jesus” a “huge story”
that could “rock Christianity to its core”.

Among the outrageous claims made by the film’s director
James Cameron (of Titanic fame), the film alleges that
Jesus and Mary Magdelene were married and produced a son, Judah.

Logic and fact have been carelessly tossed aside, and as
Brent Bozell says, “If they want to mount a full-blown attack
on Christianity, they should be honest enough to say so.
Instead, they coyly dredge up a long-discredited theory,
cloak it in half-baked ‘evidence’ and pass it off as science.
The public deserves better.”

Glenn Greenwald, Thomas Ellers, and Rick Ellensburg: The Three Most Hypocritical Men on the Planet

A suicide bomber apparently tried to kill Dick Cheney, and many commenters at the Huffington Post lamented his lack of success. The offending comments have been removed from the post in question, but you can read some of them here. Some examples include:

If at first you don’t succeed . . .

and:

Better luck next time!

and:

Dr. Evil escapes again . . . damn.

Parents let 12 year old daughter go on trip with 41-year old man

This falls into ‘how stupid can parents be’ category.

A 41-year-old Redding man charged with molesting a 12-year-old girl told investigators the child was his girlfriend and he loved her, court records show.

Kurt Andrew Hakmiller drove from his home nearly 600 miles away for a Christmastime rendezvous with the Ontario girl, who he met over a telephone chat line, police said in reports filed in San Bernardino County Superior Court.

Hakmiller has pleaded not guilty to three counts of committing lewd acts on a child younger than 13. He is being held on $500,000 bail and a preliminary hearing is scheduled Thursday.

Marty Meehan: ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ Revisited

Open homosexuality in the military revisited;

The first U.S. Marine seriously wounded in Iraq, Staff Sgt. Eric Alva, lost his leg when he stepped on a land mine, but today he and his prosthetic leg will march right into one of the most contentious battles in American politics.

Alva will stand with Rep. Marty Meehan, D-Mass., as a bipartisan group of Congress members introduces legislation to overturn the ban on openly gay and lesbian troops serving in the military.

Haditha Marines: Based on the facts; guilty of no crime

Media Lies has this post.

We are rapidly approaching….

….the beginning of the trial for the charges against the Marines involved in the incident in Haditha. I have written from the beginning about Haditha and I concluded, based upon the facts that we know, that the Marines followed the ROE and are guilty of no crime.

Sgt. Frank Wutterich must pay for his own defense. You can help. This is an extremely important case. If the Marines involved are found guilty of a crime, then the rules of engagement mean nothing and no military person will ever again be able to fight a war without looking over their shoulder to see if the lawyers are swarming. A guilty verdict will cost lives, American lives.

According to Capt. John Barger of the Police Department in Pueblo, Colorado, the baby boy was sold for $1,500, of which $500 went for a down payment on a car. The child is now in the custody of the Pueblo County Department of Social Services.

If The Democrats Get Their Way In Iraq Will Al Qaeda Get It’s Way?

by Regina Sztajer

Vice President Dick Cheney made the Speaker of the House rather indignant when he spoke about the Democratics’ legislative proposals to weaken our current offensive in Iraq when he said, “Al Qaeda functions on the basis that they think they can break our will and cause us to quit and go home. That’s the fundamental underlying strategy..If we adopt the Pelosi policy.. we will validate the strategy of Al Qaeda.” ( https://www.townhall.com 2/27/2007.) Pelosi felt he was questioning her patriotism but Cheney had the obligation to warn Americans of the consequences of a cut and run policy. He is not questioning the Democratics’ patriotism but rather their judgement. If the Democrats’ are playing into the hands of the enemy it does constitute an attack on their patriotism. How often have they complained the presidents policies in Iraq is a terrorist recruitment tool. If the shoe fits wear it! Our president’s patriotism is not to be questioned because he is determined in the face of a relentless Democratic campaign against him with militant anti-war propaganda to engineer an American defeat in Iraq.

Barak Obama: MSM Bipolar on African American support

The African-American support of Barak Obama is either positive or negative; depending on which MSM report you read.  First we have this from CNN today written by Candy Crowley and Sasha Johnson.

Obama getting a cool reception from black America.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Polls suggest whites are more likely than blacks to say America is ready for a black president, which may be part of why much of the African-American community is cool to the presidential candidacy of Sen. Barack Obama.

On the very same day we find this in Washington Post.

Bush to talk with Iran on future of Iraq

President George Bush signalled a dramatic shift in his Middle East policy last night by agreeing to discuss the future of Iraq with Iran and Syria.  His move comes despite his belief that the two countries are fuelling the insurgency that has led Iraq into civil war.

A second meeting is due to be held in April and the Americans last night held open the possibility of one-to-one talks with Iranian ministers, which the US has previously refused to do unless Teheran suspended its uranium enrichment programme.

The US will attend a conference in Baghdad next month to discuss the “stabilisation” of Iraq with its six neighbours, including Iran which Mr Bush once described as part of an “axis of evil”.

China: One county birth-rate lower without one-child policy

A positive story on China and the one-child policy.  It’s only positive because in a rural mining town in Yicheng County families are exempt from the one-child policy.  The one-child policy has been in effect since 1979 to control the population in China.

In Yicheng families have been allow to have two children.  Instead of having a higher birth-rate than the national average, Yicheng’s is actually lower.

“If the whole country had adopted the Yicheng policy from the start, we could have kept China’s population under 1.2 billion,” below the official target for 2000, says Tan Kejian, of Shanxi’s provincial Academy of Social Sciences. “And this policy was much easier for peasants to accept.” […]

KARACHI, Pakistan — Police are seeking 10 men, including several tribal elders, accused of pressuring a Pakistani woman to hand over her teenage daughter as payment for a 16-year-old poker debt, officials said Tuesday.

Iran training Iraqis: US Intel Chief

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that it is “probable” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei knew of Iranian weapons supplied to Iraqi Shi’ites and that Iraqis are being trained outside of Iraq in Iran and Lebanon on armor-piercing munitions.

Iran is training anti-American Iraqi Shi’ites at sites inside Iran and Lebanon in the use of armor-piercing munitions blamed for the deaths of 170 U.S. troops in Iraq, the top U.S. intelligence official said on Tuesday.

West ‘humiliating’ Iran, says Hans Blix

Hans Blix speaks out against U.S., Europe and the U.N. position on Iran.  Blix accuses the west of treating Iran like a child.  He believes that if we shower the Iranians with enough gifts they will not want to build bombs to blow us up.

Former chief UN weapons inspector Hans Blix said Monday the United States, Europe and the UN Security Council are ”humiliating” Iran by demanding that it suspend uranium enrichment before any negotiations and then dictating its rewards.

The Great Divide

They’ve been friends since St. Joe’s Prep. One became a gung-ho Marine, the other a skeptical journalist. Eventually they met up in Iraq’s Wild West, where the journalist finally understood why the Marine still believes in this war

It was the moment I thought I’d been waiting for. After spending a week on Al Asad, the largest U.S. military installation in western Iraq, I’d been offered the chance to go “outside the wire” on a mission. Standing before me in the 110-degree heat, Sergeant Brian Wheelock explained that his detachment of Marines was going to a town called Hit. As far as Wheelock knew, I would be the first American journalist to visit the town, and he said this mission was one I ought to see: His men would be meeting with the most powerful imams and sheikhs of Al Anbar province, in the heart of the Sunni Triangle, ground zero of the insurgency. The detachment’s captain was going to try to persuade them to encourage their mosques and tribes to vote in the upcoming election. In other words, the Iraqis who trusted the United States the least would be asked to trust us entirely and embrace democracy.

Is the death of the 1st Amendment upon us

by Brujo Blanco

Amendment I

US CONSTITUTION

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

For those of you who have read my articles in the past you may have noted that I am a big supporter of the 1st Amendment. The founding fathers had a reason for making it the first amendment. In my opinion if this amendment falls so will the rest of the amendments. It seems that when there is an attack on this amendment and others it is coming from the left (i.e. ACLU, etc) and the perpetrators of these this attack allege that they are protecting the rights when in fact they are trying to take away.

Boston: U.S. court upholds same-sex teaching to children

This is outrageous!

A federal judge in Boston has dismissed a suit by two families who wanted to stop a Massachusetts town and its public school system from teaching their children about gay marriage, court documents show.

The families last year filed the suit asserting that the reading of a gay-themed book and handing out to elementary school students of other children’s books that discussed homosexuality without first notifying parents was a violation of their religious rights.

Military readiness: Wars strain US military might

The new assessment of the U.S. Military readiness has been completed by General Pace, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff.  The report shows a U.S. military readiness is at greater risk than a year ago. The report is being delivered on the heels of efforts to increase overall troop size of the Army and Marines as well as equipment replacement and repairs.

There is a significant risk that the US military, strained by the demands of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, will not be able to quickly and fully respond to yet another crisis, stated a new defense review submitted to Congress.

Court backs $3 billion California stem cell plan

California is leading the way on pushing through Stem-Cell research. Expect an appeal in this case.

SAN FRANCISCO — Three years after California passed a $3 billion stem cell initiative, a state appeals court has upheld the creation of the agency that will distribute the money, rebuffing legal challenges from abortion opponents and anti-tax activists.

The 1st District Court of Appeal Monday upheld a decision by a lower court judge who had ruled in favor of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) last year.

The agency was created when 59% of voters passed Proposition 71 in 2004. In addition to creating the institute, the proposition authorized it to sell $3 billion in bonds to fund stem cell research over 10 years.

Democrats Back Away From Iraq Plan

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid shelving the Levin and Biden Iraq war reauthorization bill.

Democratic leaders backed away from aggressive plans to limit President Bush’s war authority, the latest sign of divisions within their ranks over how to proceed.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Monday he wanted to delay votes on a measure that would repeal the 2002 war authorization and narrow the mission in Iraq.

Even Nancy Pelosi is dumping John Murtha’s ‘slow bleed’ troop redeployment plan.

Capital Research group has published this report on Code Pink By John J. Tierney.

The group Code Pink has seized the leadership of women activists opposed to the war in Iraq. Mixing radical feminists and pacifists with Old and New Left Marxists, Code Pink is determined to use opposition to the Iraq war to undermine America’s war on terror. The group’s most visible public face and most useful idiot is Cindy Sheehan, the media-anointed “peace mom.”

Full report pdf here.

If you don’t know who Code Pink is; Here is a quick introduction.

The Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., the current home of hundreds of wounded veterans from the war in Iraq, has been the target of weekly anti-war demonstrations since March. The protesters hold signs that read “Maimed for a Lie” and “Enlist here to die for Halliburton.”
