Computilo is the Esperanto pseudonym of Mary Bednarek, who continues to be “just another traveler stumbling about.” My careers have included being a toy store stocker, a playground activities director, a paper factory assembly line drudge, an English teacher, and an employee of several publishing houses, mostly working with books about computers. (And those are just the ones I got paid for.) Career-wise, I was lucky enough to become involved with the ….For Dummies series of books near to their beginnings in 1990 and I’m still as excited about that relationship as ever. That’s my work life.
But, in my real life, my accomplishments are more challenging to itemize. They include my marriage of 39 years to the same man; four accomplished children who are good people down to their very core of being; their partners and spouses, whom I have been so lucky to add to my life; and three surprising grandsons whose potential leaves me in awe every minute of every day.
And then there is my faith–I’m a cradle Catholic with the usual contradictions…those contradictions really make me that traveler stumbling about. One thing I do know–faith is not as easy to categorize or to make into a sound-bite as it seems, but it’s also not anything I can–or want to–shake off.
Keep on stumbling…………..
