DaveScot strikes again ! September 21, 2006

This guy is perfect!
Of course my comment on their problems with Google, pointing out that O’Leary was reproducing content didn’t appear on UD. I was expecting that.
But somehow (by reading my comment?) the guy understood that replicated content is a bad(evil) thing for Google. Do you read that Denyse?
Now, DaveScot the marvelous have a parade : disabling the rss feed (that’s a nice idea). If I remember well I have an alternative solution for following any URL and I’ll spend a few minutes tomorrow to set it up for Uncommon Descent 🙂 And it will much more informative then the one I used as a demonstration for Glazman. The last post there concerns Intelligent Design, as I was expecting that some day DaveScot would strike 😉 — had to wait 2 months!
Go and read his last post (cached, just in case…)
And.. some DaveScot related links 😉
- […] DaveScot is Not a Laughing Matter
DaveScot recently created a policy that would ban William Dembski from his own blog – by threatening to ban anyone who rejects common descent […]
- Censorship at PT? I Don’t Think So.
[…] “DaveScot” was not banned for simply using multiple names; he was banned for making threats against PT and also posting under another person’s name. […]
- “DaveScot” is a Fucking Moron – higly probable
- DaveScot saves me from fools
I do not call the ID proponents fools because their “theory” differs from the one I support. I call them fools for their inability to reason.
- Why DaveScot Should Stop Playing Lawyer
DaveScot is an especially belligerent idiot who was happily adopted as a co-blogger by the credibility-free Intelligent Design proponent William Dembski. Normally, I ignore idiots. But DaveScot […]
- DaveScot Scores an Own Goal
Over at chez Dembski, the craniorectally inverted DaveScott writes
craniorectally inverted! wow! nice one

Nope, not even something edible…
When IDers seek Web visibility that’s what you can expect in return: a free intelligent design book (cached, just in case – if the link is broken I’ll provide a copy).
Not even edible 😦
Those guys are selling ID, but need to present themselves under the label “theory-of-evolution” to mousetrap readers.
quote mined September 20, 2006

Alert! Alack! I have been quote mined!: “Since creationists, essentially universally, can’t (or don’t want to) deal with actual scientific data pertaining to evolution, they attempt maintain a facade of respectibility by quoting statements from biological authorities. “
(Via The Panda’s Thumb.)
🙂 The European version of ID, claiming to be evolutionists but anti-darwinian, have it’s own highly specialized to “quote mining” guy, Jean Staune of the Université Interdisciplinaire de Paris [fr]. A sample of his work here, at the Uncommon Descentheaven.

For those that haven’t followed the ID-like debate in Europe (France), and don’t know who Jen Staune is, I think the best would be to have a look at this UD’s page, then take a tour at Intelligent or Silly Design.
Staune is the champion of european anti-darwinists and an anti-intelligent design guy, sometimes 🙂
Intelligent Design sucks in Europe and he try by every mean to clearly state that he isn’t anything like a creationist or an IDer. But he claims that some supernatural being is behind the universe anyway 🙂 Not necessarily God, but some supernatural being… The same kind of rhetorical turns as when Dembski say that the Intelligent Designer could be an ET.
Now, I just received an e-mail from Jean, pointing to the publication of a letter(fr) sent to the journal “Le Monde“. Jean is always proud when a journal speak about him, even if it’s the posting of his protests.
What are the interesting points in this last one ?
- un premier entre des néocréationnistes défendant des thèses absurdes et des évolutionnistes cherchant d’autres mécanismes de l’évolution que les mécanismes darwiniens ;
He is upset because there is confusion between “neocreationnists defending absurd theses and evolutionists seeking mechanisms explaining evolution other than darwinian”. Clearly Jean Staune don’t want to be considered as a neocreationnist, despite the fact that he thinks that the universe was created by someone.
Then, he clearly distance himself from Intelligent Desing “for which the creator (read Intelligent Designer) bypass the laws of the universe to achieve life on Earth” an prone the anthropic principle (read God or Intelligent Designer, but much more intelligent then the one of IDers) suggested (not proven) by universal laws.
Dear Jean,
we will keep in mind that the only common points between you and Dembski are that you don’t like Darwin, that you have nothing better to propose as a scientific theory of evolution than darwinism and that you both believe that something supernatural acted to make it possible for life to exist.

Intelligent Designers (T) experimental projects are quite rare. This one is quite interesting because it can help to make a parallel between rewind and ID inference. William Dembski (T) and Denyse O’Leary (T) should see this video 😉

Not watch but pilemakers 😀
Barbara West July 20, 2006

Denyse O’Leary (T) avoid naming Barbara West (T), the creator of Myths of our Time: Intelligent Design (T) in her report of “quilting against ID”.
Perhaps this demonstration of Barbara’s humor is beyond her perception. Hmm, that doesn’t sound promising for the evolution (T) of Uncommon Descent (T).

Title/Link : Molecular DNA Switch Found to be the Same for All Life

The molecular machinery that starts the process by which a biological cell divides into two identical daughter cells apparently worked so well early on that evolution has conserved it across the eons in all forms of life on Earth. Researchers with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of California […]
