It should be no surprise that one with a Fogey in his name has a preference for antique furniture.
For a while one would see a photo circulating featuring a a sparsely decorated room with a cheap chair and a TV on the floor with text attached describing it as “all a man needs”, in the meme creator’s parlance. One images there was also a inflatable mattress in a bedroom somewhere in the house.
A Fogey of course does not parallel this situation, it’s vulgar. One may be simple but not cheap and uncivilized. Furnish your house with in your budget and to your needs and wants but tastefully!
