CollectionSpace Features Roadmap
The CollectionSpace roadmap is developed in collaboration with community members, the CollectionSpace Program Manager, and CollectionSpace Technical Lead. Beginning in 2025, the roadmap is structured around four commitment areas. These broad commitment statements provide focus for the program so that we can meet the demands of a community vested in the stewardship of collections.

Release 8.2:
- Minor release focused on cleaning up bugs, improving the development process. See 8.2 Release Notes for additional information.

- NAGPRA Support. See 8.1 Release Notes for additional information.
In Progress:
Release 8.3:
- Update to CollectionSpace Search including various views of search results and reimagined Advanced Search page
In Discussion:
Priority is not yet established, but discussion is underway for the following topics:
- General UX/UI improvements
- Reimagined Public Portal
- Improvements to Physical Control
The CollectionSpace Roadmap is constantly evolving based on feedback and engagement from our community of users.

The CollectionSpace roadmap is evolving and iterative. Work is organized with a commitment to:
Goal #1
We are committed to open and supported architecture and best practice in software development.
Goal #2
We are committed to functionality that support archaeology, fine art, history, material order, and natural history collection objects.
Goal #3
We are committed to documented data modeling to support collection cataloging and workflows.
Goal #4
We are committed to accessible and documented end user software.

In Progress:
Specifications have been built for this work, and work is assigned to developers for upcoming release.
In Discussion:
Discussion around feasibility and/or specification work is underway. This work has not yet been assigned to developers.
Future:
Interest for this work has been expressed, however specifications are not yet in development. These projects may need community sponsor to assist in specification and/or contribute to the work.
Completed:
Work is completed and available in a released version of CollectionSpace. Modifications to existing functionality are new projects.
