You made some really great points in this post! I completely agree that we need to ensure our PLN is diverse in order to minimize any biases we may have. I really loved your point where you brought up that you may not understand what it is like to be racially oppressed, but as a woman, you have experienced some form of oppression. It’s so important to empathize with one another as you mentioned in your post, and a great way to do that is by sharing your own, and hearing others experiences.

]]>I really enjoy reading your blog post! I think your post is quite clear, organized, and easy to understand. I liked how you combine your ideas on this topic with your blog post eight, which makes me better understand your opinions. I agree that having “a diverse PLN with people of differing cultures, races, backgrounds, and careers allow us to minimize bias and expand our knowledge”. In my opinion, a diverse PLN can also help us know different perspectives from others in order to avoid receiving biased news or information as well.

]]>I think your blog post is very clear and informative for me! I really enjoy reading it. I agree that due to this COVID-19 pandemic, an increasing number of people begun to rely more on online technologies because most of them need to work or study directly from home remotely. Actually, I found it is much more convenient and flexible for me to study at home because I can decide my own study schedules directly by myself. Also, all the online tools that you shared in your post for the learning are useful and effective. For example, personally, I have used YouTube to watch tutorial videos for a long time and I found those tutorial videos or lecture videos are quite useful. Most important, they are free! Also, the professors of most of my online courses during this semester use Zoom to provide synchronous online teaching. I definitely agree that our personal learning networks are changing right now and social media plays a quite important and valuable role in our education.

]]>Your blog post is quite clear and useful for me! I liked how you explained the word “identity” to us and the example you used about Superman and Clark Kent. In your post, as you described, “one advantage of interacting on social media platforms is that we can be as anonymous as we choose to be”. I think that’s a really good point, which I did not mentioned in my post. I am wondering if you have read this web article about 3 Undeniable Reasons Why You Need Online Anonymity.

In my opinion, one of the most important reasons is to protect our personal identity online. However, we all know being anonymous online does not means we do not have any risks of disclosure. Therefore, I agree that we still need to be careful about what we say online.

]]>I really enjoy reading your blog post! I think it is quite clear and informative. How’s your EDCI 335 and 339? I did not take the two courses before, but I plan to take EDCI 339 next semester. Same as you, most of the time in my personal life, I play the role as a listener or an observer. However, as more and more group projects are designed on online courses, sometimes, I need to be the voice in my group work as well. I agree that a diverse PLN can help us know more about how to relate to other people who may have different cultures, religious backgrounds or races with you. In my opinion, it can not only help me get more valuable and useful information from them, but also help me learn from them and interact with them directly as well.

]]>Your Visitor and Resident Map looks pretty nice! I really liked that you explained how to use each social media tool specifically and clearly on your map, which make me have a much better and clearer understanding of how your PLNs work and what each tool is about. Also, the design of your map looks very attractive, organized, and clear. Moreover, your post is informative as well. I agree that “we can have as many identities as we would like by creating separate profiles for different topics and different audiences”. Personally, I have already had a blog on WordPress, which is used to share my personal experience and lives. However, for this course, I created a new account and shared my blog posts with you (i.e. all group members in course EDCI 338) in order to show my professional identity. However, I think it is necessary for us to use separated accounts on social media due to the different purposes. I really like your post, but the only thing that I would suggest is to add more social media tools, which you mentioned in this post, to your map, such as Indeed and YouTube.
