Today we have something for you that’s going to make it a lot more useful. We’ve spent the summer redesigning our core app:

It’s way faster. More accessible. It works better on your phone. The back button works now!

Over the coming weeks we’ll continue launching new features and sharing them with you here.

Search

The search engine now checks project names, project website URLs, and any previous names for the project.

You can also search right from our homepage: civictech.guide.

Better data filters

Find exactly what you’re looking for with filters for:

• Project type (Event, Organization, Tool or platform, etc.)
• Organization type (non-profit, gov, for-profit, etc.)
• Category (Accelerators, Government transparency, etc.)
• 🆕 Format (API, book, podcast, etc.)
• Based in (HQ location)
• 🆕 Working in (project’s geographic focus)
• Open source (yes, no, partial)
• 🆕 Feature (Alerts, Events, Heatmaps, etc.)
• 🆕 Civic tech community (Alaveteli, NYC, g0v, etc.)
• 🆕 Tech platform (GitHub, Matrix, WordPress, etc.)
• 🆕 Political unit (city, EU, US federal, etc.)
• Social issue (air quality, heat, recidivism, etc.)
• 🆕 UN SDG (Climate action, No poverty, etc.)
• 🆕 Year started

(All filters support multi-select and can be combined.)
