A bed today is rarely used for sleep alone. In daily life, it becomes a place for reading, watching movies, lounging, talking, procrastinating, or simply pausing in between. Snooze is constructed from wooden boards intersecting at 45° and 12° angles, its subtle incline allows for a naturally relaxed sitting posture without the need for a pillow stuffed behind the back.

Delta is a material-efficient wall lamp designed for 1x1 Systems based around a simple wooden stick that can be easily upcycled from old broomsticks or discarded furniture. The design is highly adjustable both in height and angle while always staying in place thanks to the constant tension of the cable. 1×1 Systems adopts a parametric design-based production model: instead of offering fixed, finished furniture, they provide digital design files and 3D-printable connectors whose geometry and configuration are defined by a set of adjustable parameters.

Unlike standard tables, Hub does not conceal its structural components but highlights the wooden joint as an integral part of the concept. In order to function effectively in both office environments and domestic contexts, the table was designed to strike the right balance between a sleek silhouette and a warm, rounded shape.

2025

The ceiling is often an overlooked part of a space. Slack is designed to free the floor from clutter and frame the hanging clothes. Made from powder-coated steel and a woven fabric strap, the adjustment system works similarly to that of a backpack, allowing for easy leveling and height adjustment.

2024

After living and working in New York, Christoph was particularly influenced by Alexander Calder's objects. He understood that living and working spaces are often static environments and seldomly incorporate motion, which can influence the atmosphere of a space and give it a calming or lively quality. In 2019 Christoph started working on a company called boee, which he later launched in Paris at Maison&Objet 2021. boee produces contemporary mobiles in collaboration with different emerging artists and designers. The mobiles can be ordered in the boee webshop or bought in retail stores located in Berlin, London and New York.

Hiro is a remark on archetypal table constructions. Composed of the most basic elements, the central beam forms a handle on the top. This simple gesture questions the common perception of a table as a stationary object.⁠

These cast tealight holders frame and reflect light on their inner surfaces. Crafted from bronze, brass, and aluminum, they offer a warm tactile experience when in use, elevating the quality of mass-produced tea lights. Made for the exhibition RADIATOR at 019 in Ghent, Belgium.

Kari is a ceramic pendant lamp. The raw inner surface serves as a light diffuser, while the outer glaze adds a rich and deep colored quality. Referencing a classic typology, Kari is informed by a clear and contemporary geometric approach.

The inherent nature of mass-producing smartphones leads to a tradeoff between individuality and uniformity in its appearance. Giving millions of devices a coherent look, together with fragile glass surfaces and the tendency to evolve thinner from one generation to the next, leaves few alternatives to an outer case. Case Study explores five alternative haptic sensations, materials, and production processes in this field.

While kitchen front handles are commonly concealed and reduced to details, this approach utilizes the handle in form of a bold pattern. Accessible from every angle and height, the front blends both function and decoration into one surface. ⁠

Private commission, 2022

MAKA is a ramen restaurant located in Vienna. All ramen soups need a solid broth and fresh toppings. Following this approach, the interior design concept showcases vibrant artworks of Denise Rudolf Frank and colourful hand-blown lamps that come from above. Solid wooden chairs and bespoke furniture form a clear foundation.

Chit-chat is a series of observations on natural and manufactured objects that I have collected over the years. It showcases a fundamental part of the design process: analysing and setting new relations between form, texture, colour, function and fabrication methods. The combinations came naturally, as they started chatting with each other.

Spool is an electrical multi-socket that takes the functionality of a cable drum and the simple construction of an extension socket. The cable storage becomes a useful grip on the underside while storing a 5 meter braided cable in its top circular slot. Unlike most multi sockets, it has a round shape and friendly appearance, giving it a place in our home and office environment.

Travelling by flight has become an experience between high-tech engineering and compulsive commercialisation. As the passenger is simultaneously seen as a vulnerable commodity, security threat and spending power, the airport requires an ingenious system to process these dissimilar fields. The photographic series Metaport focusses on the eclectic design often overlooked during an international commute.⁠

Mid-Rise is a floor lamp designed for the exhibition Residence that focused on the ambiguous relationship we, the FAN collective, have with the city of Karlsruhe. Two 6 mm glass plates suspend a sheet of painted aluminium in the centre, emitting various shades of colour and light. Specific details reference military techniques, where the electric components are painted for weather-proofing. The overall concept proposes glass, light and colour as the constructive elements of an object.

Our domestic landscape of objects is continually evolving. The effect of living spaces overlapping more and more has a direct impact on how we expect furniture to perform. Domino is an open shelving system for this new home environment. The construction is based on semi-finished parts, the clamping system allows for a multitude of materials to be used and for the assembly, no tools are required.

Lean is a mirror for corners. The placement focuses on a space which in most cases only receives little consumer attention. The drawn-out trapezoid shape allows for flush contact with both walls and the floor while abandoning the concept of a frame. Its liberal use of space enables Lean to be at home in any flat.

Palm is a free-standing shelf. Rods and beams span below the shelves to stabilise Palm without actually connecting. As long as the position of the four holes is set, the framework allows for the use of almost any sheet material whether it's wood, glass or stone.
