My research lie in natural language processing, LLM and data intelligence. More specifically, my research vision centers on flexibly and effectively ushering humans into the world of both structured and unstructured knowledge through natural language. This entails understanding complex user intents in human–machine intelligence and retrieving, reasoning over, and synthesizing knowledge from diverse data sources based on those inputs. I have published over 80 papers in prestigious conferences and journals such as ACL, EMNLP, ICLR, NeurIPS, SIGIR, KDD, and TOIS. My work has been recognized with the NLPCC Outstanding Paper Award and the PaperDigest Most Influential ICLR 2024 Paper. I have also served as an Area Chair or Senior Program Committee member for ACL ARR, KDD, WWW, EMNLP, CCKS, and other major conferences. I have led research projects funded by the NSFC, CIE, CAAI and other leading enterprises. I was selected as a Beihang “Outstanding Young Scholar” and have been recognized as an AI 2000 Scholar by Aminer.

Biography
Hi, I am Chongyang Tao, a pre-tenure associate professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Beihang University, working with Prof. Shuai Ma. Previously, I was a senior scientist at Microsoft, where I had the privilege of working with Dr. Wei Wu, Dr. Daxin Jiang, Dr. Xiubo Geng and Dr. Jian-guang Lou on projects such as Microsoft Xiaoice, ChatwithBING, the Bing Retrieval/Generative Model, and WizardLM. I received my Ph.D. degree from Peking University in 2020, under the supervision of Prof. Dongyan Zhao, and the B. Eng degree from Sichuan University in 2015.My research lie in natural language processing, LLM and data intelligence.
