{People have asked where my blog name comes from, since Googling seems to turn up mainly links back to this blog and not to the original reference…anyhow, Chavisory is a minor character in Keith Donohue’s novel The Stolen Child, which is gorgeous and very, very highly recommended. I just read a comment you left on a jezebel post about LOST and I wanted to tell you thank you. I was so upset after the finale, disappointed after the alternate endings were fake, and thoroughly disgusted that I had wasted 6 years of TV time for such a cop out ending. I remember reading that someone theorized that they were all in hell or purgatory way back after season 2 and thinking there’s no way that’s true. I appreciate your synopsis and will be sharing it with my fellow frustrated friends and family.

I’m not sure, but don’t worry–last night I learned for the first time that my roommate of 7 years (and friend of 9) has a crooked little finger. And here I always thought I was “detail oriented.” 😉

The snowflakes are cute… but I honestly thought there was something wrong with my eyes at first. It’s still a bit disorienting even though I know it’s snowflakes and it’s cute when I look at them directly. It just makes it really hard to read your blog! For me anyway. Visual processing problems. *blush*

Hello Aspie Sister! – I was diagnosed last year age 59. Still getting my bearings of who I really am. One part in your article about “Autistic Commonality And The Illusion Of Quirky” – was so well stated.
“And many of those perceptual experiences are described remarkably similarly by people all across the spectrum. This means that while the expression or “severity” of our challenges as autistic people may vary widely, but the underlying reasons for those challenges often prove similar.”
It’s something I’ve struggled with in my metamorphosis – “Am I really Autistic? I’m not like (…..). Yet I feel such a deep connection with all types and degrees of traits. Your perspective and how you expressed it was well done!
Thank you for all you do.. I’ve been writing on Quora – both for my benefit of clarifying my thoughts but also with the hope of helping one more sister or brother in their journey… or their parent, spouse, or friend – in some way. We are making a difference!
